In the end, everyone should be treated equal. It is just simply wrong to deny any human the right to marry someone of the same sex; it is unlawful, unjust, and unfair. In the future same sex marriage must be legal all over the United States. Same sex couples just want happiness just like couples of the opposite sex. Gay marriage should be legally recognized, what is so right about a heterosexual marriage compared to homosexuals? They both start with the letter “H”, the only difference is the genders. Nobody should have the right to determine what is considered “right”, marriage makes a couple officially together; it does not affect anybody but them. Labels should not define love, and by not allowing same gender couple the right to marry is unfair and wrong.
Let Gays Marry and Leave Marriage Alone The article, "Let Gays Marry," written by Andrew Sullivan, is about equal rights on marriage for same sex couples. The second article, "Leave Marriage Alone," written by William Bennett, is about the institute of marriage and the meaning of marriage. Let people who love each other and want to be together for the rest of their lives, no matter sexuality tendencies, be together and live like other people in love. Both of these authors have different views of what the definition of marriage should be. Sullivan's article argues, "Gay men and lesbians are citizens, entitled, like everyone else, to equal protection-no special rights, but simple equality" (p. 25).
This is important because we should all be able to get married when we see fit in our lives, no matter who we want our spouse to be. I think that everyone deserves the right to be married, and I do not think that the government should be able to dictate who we marry. You also have to think about the fact that being gay is not always a choice. There have been several studies that have shown that someone being gay is the way that they are born, not what they choose. This being said, a great example of this would be a person that has mental retardation, they are still allowed to get married when they want to in their lives, so why not gay people.
My marriage is not threatened or devalued in any way, shape or form” (Land 31). In conclusion, gay marriage should be allowed in the United States because it supports the idea of equal rights, and it would do no harm to children with homosexual parents, or society. When gays are denied marriage, not only are they denied that right, but many other rights as well. This is completely unacceptable. By making gay marriage legal, the government is setting up a world in which everyone is balanced.
I believe lifetime love, and commitment should be celebrated and honored. Gay couples constantly gets harassed due to the fact they are gay, if two people are happy they should be allowed too. You can't stop somebody for being who they want to love and marry, it do not concern me and anybody else about other people relationship.Legalizing gay marriage will not put anyone at risk nor will it affect anyone. People may have rude comments and they are entitled to their opinion about gay couples but that is all it is an opinion. Gay marriage is a legitimate relationship and gay people should just ignore what people have to say about them and keep loving and caring for each other unconditionally.
It is their nature to be the way they are and no amount of religion or moral judgement can change that for them. Same-sex couples should not be afraid to publicly expose their love to the world and should be given the proper respect and that all heterosexual couples have. This includes but not limited to, the legal agreement that all homosexual are allowed to marriage in their own states and county. The unionization of marriage should not be just limited to just men and women just because an unreliable holy book from two thousand years ago says so. Same-sex couples should be able to have access to the same benefits straight cou... ... middle of paper ... ... homosexuality was a choice, then being straight is just another choice as well; that all just sounds redundant.
There will always be differences of opinion on the gay marriage controversy, it's really just up to each person to decide which side they're on. Marriage doesn't affect anyone but the people who are getting married, so they should be able to just marry who they want. Gay marriage should be made legal in every state because it's not right to deny anyone of the right to marry and love who they want. The heart wants what it wants and who are we to judge anyone who's simply acting on their love?
A gay person is no diffe... ... middle of paper ... ...y should someone be denied the right to get married just because they are gay? Why shouldn’t someone marry who they want just because some has a personal or moral issue with it from their beliefs. To me that is not morally fair to judge someone, how can someone preach about morals and say god don’t judge but that what they are doing to others judging. Gay people need love too, they cannot help the fact that they fell in love with a person of the same sex as they are love is uncontrollable. From a Christian point of view you know that God has planned out your life before you even started your life.
Or maybe they were a couple of letters of the same sex engaging in a homosexual relationship. A “W” is two “V” s in a civil union, but the world is not ready to flip that on its head and let them go for the big “M” (Kintz). Not only does some humans have a problem with individuals being gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people also has an issue with same sex marriage. Love and marriage shouldn 't have a gender to it, because love just happens. People shouldn 't sacrifice their happiness in marrying someone who doesn 't make them happy just to be accepted and not be judged.
