Those who would oppose this action mainly consist of religious people and people that do not like homosexuals. These people may also form organizations who would work as a unit to prevent the legalization of same-sex couples. Voting done by these people would prevent the passage of the legalization in their state.
• Reasons in which these people and groups would be opposed to this action include that it hurts traditional marriage, it impinges on their religious freedom, it is unconstitutional, and that it is unnatural.
• The strongest reason provided by these people is the fact that same-sex marriage is unconstitutional. The constitution defines a marriage as a union between a man and a woman. Any deviation from this definition is unconstitutional, and therefore a marriage between a woman and a woman or a man and a man is unconstitutional.
• The weakest reason provided by these people is that it hurts traditional marriage. The marriage of any one couple does not reflect on any other marriage.
• To rebut these reasons one would include ways in which same-sex marriage is not hurt...
