Sales of Illegal Goods on the Internet
With the increase of on-line crimes and fraud, stricter laws must be placed on the sale of such problematic items as guns, prescription drugs, and human blood and organs over the Internet. The selling of these and other items has created many problems in recent months. Most of these items are auctioned online through popular sites such as e-bay. This is a somewhat complicated issue due to the fact that they are many conflicting opinions. In addition, the laws for and against the marketing of these products online are very uncertain. There are many activists and liberals in favor of selling organs and blood online in order to save lives. Many gun advocates such as the NRA are greatly in favor of the retailing of guns over the Internet. The sale of guns online will be a rather tricky issue when dealing with the revision of current gun laws. Online prescription sales have already proven themselves dangerous and in several cases, lethal.
The online firearm market has taken of within the last couple of years. There are already many websites offing guns, ammunition, and supplies for purchase. Unless legal action is taken against this, obtaining a firearm will become easier than ever. Right now, it's mostly just hunting advocates' websites that sell guns, but sooner or later, corruption will begin, as always it does. These websites proclaim legitimacy- most are legitimate, though some are not. Most offer guns only to people who have gun permits or licenses and ship through NRA approved companies. Be this all true, the laws surrounding the on-line gun market are not clearly defined but rather hardly existent. Despite the NRA's views, many people of various activist groups are straightforward in s...

...the Internet is such a vast place, especially the Internet underground. These prostitutes are hard to track, thus making law enforcement much harder than finding them on the streets. As in all the other cases mentioned, stricter laws must be created and enforced. Online prostitution must be stopped.
In all cases of online sales: guns, drugs, organs, blood, and prostitutes; laws must be set. By creating laws, many people will be protected from the crime and trash that lurks on the Internet. Though easily debated issues, they are all issues, which need foundation and grounding. People can fall victim to online crime easily in any of these situations, be it mentally, physically, or emotionally. Online crime has to stop. Maybe increased government participation and laws won't bring it to a screeching halt, but they will slow its progress.

In the United States of America, prostitution is illegal in all of its 50 states with the exception of the state of Nevada. Nevada is the only U.S. state with allows legal prostitution in some of its rural counties. Occupational health and safety laws are applied to the brothels in these counties but the sex workers elsewhere in the country still remain exposed to the threat of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) and violence from pimps and customers. Prostitution exists in various forms in the States: street prostitution, escort prostitution, and brothel prostitution (Harcourt). It has been estimated that the sum total of the revenue generated by the underground prostitution industry in the U.S. is about $14.6 billion (“Prostitution Revenue”), the fifth highest in the world (about 8% of the total annual worldwide revenue). If prostitution were made legal, it would increase the U...
In "The Effectiveness of Gun Control Laws:." the authors perform a surgical operation on the various views and issues as presented by the industry concerning gun regulation. The publication outlines the laws that have been enacted by congress concerning the regulation of firearms and shows their pros and cons. The authors suggest that there needs to be a more concerted effort by the executive as well as the judiciary so be able to enforce laws concerning firearm issuing and licensing.
According to the Journal of Economics there are more firearms in the United States than people. Furthermore, the majority of homicides are committed with a firearm (Levitt, 2004). This may indicate that the availability of firearms contributes to gun violence. Individuals acquire guns in a variety of ways, from inheritance, purchasing, or theft. Regardless of the means of attainment, the possession of firearms is widespread in the United States. Those who possess guns do so for many reasons such as for sport, protection, or illegal activities (Bilchik, 1999). Gun buyback programs receive weapons from all types of individuals, regardless of how they originally acquired their firearms or why.
The Federal Government today is putting forth much effort in order to control the purchase and registration of handguns. In 1993, Congress approved the Brady Bill that requires a mandatory five-day waiting period when buying a gun. The recent school shootings have pushed Congress to pass a bill requiring approximately 80% of handguns to be produced with child safety locks. The ultimate goal of the government is to ban the sale of firearms to the public. By starting out small, and having big goals, later generations will enjoy peaceful lives.
Although the Second Amendment prevents the federal government from completely banning guns in America, limited restrictions are allowed on the distribution and possession of firearms. Certain groups of people such as criminals, the mentally unstable, and soldiers dishonorably discharged from the military are prohibited from possessing or interacting with firearms (Flynn). These restrictions are enforced by background checks in some states on both a state and federal level. However, gun laws vary from state to state and are often not thorough enough; the background checks are flawed due to lack of information and misinformation, and guns can easily end up in the hands of criminals and malevolent individuals. The ease of obtaining a firearm in America fosters crime and a dangerous environment. Hence, the Second Amendment should be reinterpreted so that stricter gun laws can be implemented because modern citizens do not require guns, current background checks are flawed, gun...
One of the most important aspects of the debate centered on gun legislature is the distribution of illegal firearms to felons, criminals and American youth. Witemute’s article hints that there have been several illegal gun sales from unauthorized markets and to those under the legal ages of 18 or 21 depending on the type of firearm being sold. Unfortunately, these illegal sales have resulted in an increase in gun related injuries and deaths. (55)
The controversy over assault rifles is one of the most problematic issues related to the contributions of gangs, drug traffickers, and most criminal activity. More often than not, criminals have access to the weapons of their choice more easily than it should be. Getting them from licensed dealers, black markets, and family members’ homes, the availability of these militia weapons has become to effortless to obtain. The rise of criminal activity is part of the reason more than one-third of high school students have easy access to a weapon or gun. “Four out of five guns brought to school are actually brought from their own homes” (Page par 2). This is one of the biggest problems when faced with where criminals get their guns. They either steal them from relative’s homes, ask to borrow them, or steal them from licensed sellers. There are a lot of ways people can get guns. People who should not be able to purchase a firearm are allowed to, and illegal transactions are also a huge issue with criminals getting their guns. For all these reasons that is why Government should require restricted gun ownership to protect society, prevent crime, and allow for recreational use.
...compelling arguments, however, it is possible that in a situation such as this, a solution may best be reached through compromise such as the legalization of brothels. Regardless, the individuals in sex work don’t deserve to be denounced in the manner they are. Ultimately they are using their bodies to make money just as a construction worker or professional figure skater is and should not be punished for simply getting paid to do something that many strangers would do for a lot less.
Gun laws in the United States of America regulate the sale, possession, and use of firearms. State laws vary and are independent of existing federal firearms laws, although they are sometimes broader or more limited in scope than the federal laws. Per former President George W. Bush, “A teenage is more likely to die from a gunshot than from all natural causes of death combined. This is unacceptable in America” (Parnell, 2009). I do agree with his statement; however, I do believe we as citizens should have that right to protect ourselves against criminals. Guns get from dealers to criminals in part through trafficking. According to the ATF reports, trafficking investigations show that trafficked firearms are diverted to prohibit people and are subsequently used in serious
In the United States today, gun control has become a very big issue in the lives of its citizens. People arguing with each other over whether it is our constitutional right to be able to obtain and bear any kind of arms that we choose or that it only belongs to the militia. Many arguments come up over whether or not just average people can show up at a gun show and sell a gun to any person without giving them a background check first. Not only do they want back ground checks they want restrictions, and bans. Should there be bans on certain kinds of weapons? If so what kind of weapons? Should any person be able to buy a gun anytime or any place? Are people getting the right picture on what guns do for the country or are they getting deprived of information? It was shown that, “Out of 300 evening news segments, anti-gun stories outnumbered pro-gun stories by 164 to 20” (Dickens 1). This is an outstanding number that shows that the media plays a huge role in what people think about the issue of gun control. If all they see is guns involved with murders, and not involved with self-defense; how much longer will we have our guns? All of these things are factoring in to the issue of gun control and how important it is to some people and hated by others. In this paper I will lay out different views, arguments, and issues that could affect gun collectors, hunters, and the every day citizen for years to come.
Due to the alarmingly large number of public massacres, gun reform has yet again become a highly debated issue in America. In the past, laws were enacted that were meant to restrict ammunition and military classes of weapons from resale in the United States. Due to strong lobbying efforts of the National Rifle
Prostitution is one of the oldest professions in history. In this modern age there are several classes of prostitutes with several methods of finding work, but they still face violence in their business. Though prostitutes are frowned upon by society and treated as criminals, under the law they should not be scrutinized by the morals of the people. Prostitutes frequently feel they have no options due to their illegal work, should they be assaulted they cannot turn to the police since many officers refuse to aid them as criminals. Prostitution should be regulated to fight human trafficking, increase quality of life for the women working in the industry, and generate taxes for the government while reducing the cost of dealing with prostitution.
Every time a massacre happens the same epidemic is brought up and sparks a debate over gun control. The controversy is surrounded by concerning questions as to who can own a gun, and how easily they can be obtained. Stricter gun control laws and licensing are essential in decreasing the number of gun-related violence and death rates caused each year. Tighter gun laws are mandatory in today’s world because guns encourage gun violence in public places, gun suicides are more common nowadays, and to limit the easy access to gun purchases.
Well, the actuality of how easy it is to possess a firearm legally. According to 2014 annual report by Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms; we have more than 54,026 federally licensed firearms dealers here in the United States. In addition, there are also pawn shops that are licensed to buy and sell firearms. Not just that, but the law does allow us to sell firearms online or neighbor to neighbor. Although, all states have different requirements, it doesn’t defeat the fact that in all states there is some type of license to carry a concealed weapon. This means we have people who are allowed to just roam around our streets with a licensed weapon in public and the minimum age for purchasing a firearm is only 18 years old. They do give the requester background checks that they need to pass but how in debt do they go with those background checks? Just because someone has a clean background doesn’t mean they don’t have a negative thought on how to use there weapon. Another fact is that someone who can’t pass the background check could ask a friend or family member to purchase the weapon for
These types of crimes have become a matter of importance for the consumers as well the business firms because it involves large eviction of the amount in terms of money. In these types of crimes, computer and Internet are the primary factor (Spinello, 2000). A high percentage of population is using computers in the Australia, United States as well as other developed nations. These people are much more connected with the world by the use of internet. They are using the computer for fun, business, e-commerce, e-marketing, etc.; thus, it has become an essential part of life and daily routine (Wall, 2008).
