Determining the need for marketing research
Is there a lack of information about your market?
• The Sacramento Kings were in a condition to change their entire franchise to the Seattle Super Sonics and make the brand more well-known because the sports industry is major in Seattle, but unfortunately the NBA did not agree with this.
• The organization also was very awful in terms of player development, poor draft picks, and bad trades.
• Due to all the negative impacts on the team, in the 2013-2014 season of the NBA the Sacramento Kings are placed last in the western conference and all the fans (band Wagoner’s) are not interested in supporting teams who are performing poorly.
• The Kings Salary cap is about $12.5 million and this is a small amount if the team ever wanted to rebrand or gain new players to the team because of high demand salary.
• If the team is performing this poorly, they should look into searching for a new head coach because the head coach is one of the big reasons that cause a team to perform terribly.
• Due to the lack of popularity of the Sacramento Kings franchise, NBA fans in today’s generation idealize towards teams such as the Miami heats, Oklahoma city thunder, Indiana Pacers, etc.
• To the individuals who watch the NBA they believe this team really does not exist due to a poor record and also the franchise did not do anything extremely exciting for a long period of times that will astonish the fan base and make them popular like back in 1951 when they won the NBA finals as the Rochester Royals
• After viewing the price of the jersey`s vs other teams jerseys, they priced there goods slightly lower than other teams and also the Kings have more sale promotions towards their jerseys. o This show the Kings a...

...and off the court. This data will support the Kings, by possibly giving the team a few solutions to rebuild this organization if possible, however, if that’s not the case, then a relocation procedure may be necessary. This secondary data will also expose the background information revolving around the economy and population for the city of Sacramento.
Primary Data
• Primary data was collected through a short survey consisting 10 questions sent out to individuals living in North America. The goal is to analyse and collect at least 100 respondents, so that there is an accurate statistical measure of what and how the public recommends the problem which was previously identified, to be changed.
• This survey was created using a reliable source known as SurveyMonkey; It can be accessed through this link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/N5TKL8Z
Secondary Data:
On top of that, the mets traded Tom Seaver to the Cincinnati reds for 4 pieces of garbage named Pat Zachary, Doug Flynn, Steve Henderson and Dan Norman. I’ve never even heard of them! The mets made a turn for the better when they sold the team to 2 men named Nelson Doubleday and Fred Wilpon in January of 1980. They got right to work because they traded for Doc Gooden, One of the best of his time. They also acquired all-star first basemen Keith Hernandez and all-star catcher Gary Carter.
Blue Jays pricing strategies are not just a financial necessity, they are also a promotional tool used to increase fan attendance. How? At all Saturday home game and nonholiday games, senior citizens and young people up to fourteen years old can purchase tickets except for the most expensive ones.

The Braves moved to Atlanta in 1966. The Braves didn’t have the best teams from 1966-1990, no World Series titles, just not up to where they had been in earlier years. In 1990 the braves had the worst record in baseball, and then in 1991, they went from worst to first, and went to the World Series. They went again in 1992, but unfortunately, they lost both times. However, in 1995 the Braves went to the Championship of baseball once again, they represented the National League, and the Cleveland Indians represented the American League. The Series went six games, and in game six the Braves won, beating the Indians, one to nothing, and winning the World Series.
Most people in todays’ society know how competitive the NBA can be. The NBA has been around for years and years and is now beginning to be more competitive than in previous years. So many teams have so much talent that some know how to use perfectly and some use it to a minimum. The NBA has different positions like Point Guard, Shooting Guard, Small Forward, Power Forward and Center. These positions require specific training and skills to know how to do. Some people have the talent for one position while some people can have the talent for all positions. The Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers are the two most competitive teams there is in the league compared to the
season as a part of a two phase leuge expansion. Teams that also were part of this expansion
“When you combine the Thunder with the arts and parks and other stuff we have, then it’s a complete package, if you want to be relevant to the pop culture of America, a city has to have a major league franchise” (Mecoy). When one asks, “What is there to do in Oklahoma?” the majority of people will answer, “Go to a Thunder game!”. In this quote said by an economist, Mark Snead, mentions this impact the Thunder has had, “We do not have mountains. We don’t have a coastline. We don’t have a ski resort. It’s one of those components that now make Oklahoma City completely in a different category” (Mec...
o They would be involved in the franchise before they had a lot to lose
The Thunder has been my favorite team since 2011. I loved the way they played on the court and put in hard work and dedication to the game. They made it all the way to the Finals in 2012, a great achievement for a team so young and of course they still have plenty of room to grow. One way they can make their team play better is to up their ball movement; in 2011 they were dead last in the league in assists, a lot of one-on-one basketball being played. Right now in 2016 though, they are a top tier team, ranking the 4th seed in the Western Conference, arguably the strongest out of the two conferences.
...g that doesn’t discriminate against a group of people. Positive things would result from changing a team name that is creating division and controversy to one that promotes unity and harmony. Franchises would gain more fans, revenues would increase, and ethnic groups would finally have peace in knowing that teams are no longer capitalizing on demeaning stereotypes. Another solution is for sports teams, in general, to embrace the biblical truth that we are all created in God’s image. Stereotypes don’t belong in the locker room or on the team logo. There are plenty of awesome words out there that represent pride, strength, courage and team that don’t have to degrade our brothers and sisters in Christ. In a country that prides itself on embracing cultural diversity and advancement, it would seem only natural that American sports franchises would strive to do the same.
It was game six in the 1993 NBA finals the Bulls had a 3-2 lead over the Phoenix Suns in the series. The Suns led in the 4th quarter with 3.6 seconds left; Chicago’s John Praxon hit the last second three winning the game 99-98 and winning the finals for a third time in a row (year by year).. The Bulls have won six championships in eight seasons. They won three, then did not make it the next two seasons and then won the next three. The bulls are the best team in NBA history because they had Michael Jordan. (year by year).
One hundred and twenty six decibels, the record for the loudest indoor arena, goes to the Sleep Train Arena, and the home of the Sacramento Kings. The record was broken at a Kings Bucks game, and though the fans were able to break a record, the Kings still lost. Since relocating to the tiny city of Sacramento, the Kings have never really been a good team. The team has only seen mediocre players with the occasional appearances of great players visiting, arriving only to pound the team and the aspiring hopes of the minimal fan base. Though the franchise has seen a couple a playoff runs and one Conference Finals debut, in which they were beaten, the team has found a way to persevere. But with new ownership comes a fresh start for a team that has been licking the bottom of the barrel. Why do such loyal fans deserve this treatment. People call the franchise lost, and the team a mess. What seems to be the unanswered question to all this is, why. What makes the Kings so bad?
I believe the results of this survey to be accurate as the survey was conducted in a fair and professional manner. However, I also discovered how easy it can be to manipulate the data and the opinions of participants to favor a single viewpoint. Surveys are an important method of gathering, summarizing and presenting large amounts of data. However, when relying on polls to form opinions or make decisions, people should consider the source, look for any conflicts of interest, contemplate other avenues of information and draw their own conclusions.
Both the NBA and college basketball seem to be in a rut. And as stated
