With such a large number of users on mobile devices it is important to optimize content for them. If a website performs poorly with mobile browsers or an app cannot display content properly users are far less likely to use it. There are many options to optimize websites for mobile users but the two most popular options are to either optimize the entire desktop website for a mobile friendly experience, or to host a separate website for mobile users and have your website recognize which device users are on and send them to the appropriate version.
