Missing: Ryan Shtuka How western Canada is coming together in the search for the missing Sun Peaks man. After leaving a house party on Burfield Drive in Sun Peaks, BC, in the early morning hours of Saturday February 17th, 20 year old Ryan Shtuka was never seen again, and has been inactive on cellular networks, social media and his bank account since his disappearance. In hopes of finding out what happened to their son, Ryan’s parents, Heather and Scott Shtuka, have come to Sun Peaks, and put their lives in Beaumont, AB, where they lived before their son went missing, on hold while they look for answers. Ryan’s family, friends and a plethora of volunteers have spent the last eight weeks searching the small resort town trying to find out what …show more content…
The first is that you don’t have to wait 24 hours to report someone missing, and so you should make the call as soon as you are concerned. ‘Literally, you could be out of my sight for seconds and if I called, RCMP or the Police would have to respond.’ she says, ‘It does not matter the age’. Something else Heather has come to feel strongly about is that there should always be somebody other than you who knows the password for your Apple ID, if you have an iPhone. ‘Ryan had a two way authentication on his phone.’ she says. ‘You couldn’t change his password with just an email address. Because we couldn’t answer his security questions, they would only text his new code to his phone 23 day later. Even RCMP intervention could do nothing. So we will never know, if looking at his find my iPhone app, his last location would have been given.’ The 20 year old is described as 6’ tall with a lean build. He has blonde hair, brown eyes, and weighs approximately 180lbs. He was last seen wearing dark grey jeans, a grey and white shirt, a blue coat and a burgundy ball
Patrick Dismuke was a teenage boy who had been a patient at Hermann Hospital all his life. He suffered from numerous health defects, including blood-clotting problems, malnutrition, and infection. On his journey, he learned to love the hospital, even more so than his home (perhaps due to the slight abandonment by his mother). He loved his doctors and nurses (most of them) and frequently spent his childhood playing games around the nurses’ station. The hospital staff equally loved Patrick, letting him watch movies late at night, allowing him to eat junk food, and answering his late night calls when he was lonely. Patrick’s love was so strong that he infected his own main line, the line leading directly to his heart, with
Alicia Pereira was the first. In 1972, five-year-old Alicia disappeared after her brother left her alone in a hotel lobby. One minute she was playing around, and the next she was gone. Rand was the prime suspect in this case. Although they never proved Andre killed her, little Alicia was never seen again. There isn't much to his next victim. Her name was Audrey Lyn Nerenberg, and she was 18 years old. Just like Alicia, Audrey was never seen again after the day she went missing in 1977. In 1981, Holly Ann Hughes, a seven-year-old girl did not return home after she went with a friend to get candy from a local store. Andre Rand saw Holly at the store, drove by her in his Volkswagen, pulled her in, and drove off. Holly’s parents filled out a Missing Person’s report. Unfortunately, they never got their daughter back. Why did Rand leave her friend? Who knows why. Tiahease Jackson, in 1983, was 11 years old when she went missing. She did not return home after her mother sent her to get groceries. Tiahease was last seen on August 14th, 1983. This was 12 days after Andre was released from a previous prison sentence. Like Alicia, Audrey, and Holly, Tiahease was never seen again. Henry was his oldest victim, at the age of 22. In 1984, Henry Gafforio disappeared. Some say, Henry was “slow.” Not physically slow, but mentally slow. He was last seen with Rand at a local diner. Now this next

We only got “it was an emergency.”

The case study on Kevin Miller is very challenging. Kevin Miller is White 5th grade student, and his parent are very supportive. Kevin has a problem with attention span; consequently, he I has been identified as a candidate for Greentree Elementary School Gifted and Talented Program. I will attempt to describe the issues related to Kevin’s moral judgement and self-concept; furthermore, I will make recommendations on his part.
The issues involved in Kevin’s case starts with his family values. Kevin seems to thrive on the attention he’s getting from his peers during school. The problem is its negative attention because it’s encouraging him to engage in negative behaviors during class. Kevin is narcissistic he feels as if he’s above the rules at school and in a way, he is because his parents have been preventing him from receiving consequences for his behaviors. Kevin’s parents are enabling these negative behaviors by defending him.
Many solutions may lead to the improvement of Aboriginal lives, and ultimately bring justice to the victims of those whom are missing and murdered. Policies that ensure no racial discrimination within the force is tolerated, and better investigative efforts from the police when dealing with the cases should be implemented to provide the community with more trust in confiding to them. The increase in media and public awareness of the subject would help bring more understanding of Aboriginal issues and the battles they face in society (RCMP, 2014). Finally, the creation of a national inquiry by the Trudeau
Thesis Statement: Given the struggles aboriginals have had to face in Canada, the Canadian government should take action to solve the hundreds of cases of missing and murdered aboriginal women, as it will strengthen the relations between aboriginals and Canadians.
Dave Armstrong is about to graduate from Harvard Business School and is facing three career options. The decision problem that Armstrong should be considering is not which of these three jobs should he take, but rather what job will satiate his career goals. By asking this, Armstrong can gain a complete perspective of his options instead of being confined to three career options that may not be in his best interests. His objectives are not clearly outlined in the case; however, we can infer from the manner in which he is describing the jobs that he would like to have ownership in a company, enjoys thrilling non-office jobs, and wants to grow his network. Also, he has to take into consideration his wife’s objectives for him of having a job

If I lost a mobile device without a password, and someone found it, then I would be worried about all the personal information in my phone including my text messages. If I have a social media app on my phone such as Facebook or Twitter then someone else on my phone can log on as me on my account and can read all my posts and text messages, as well as can write anything on my account which can probably embarrass me in front of the society. For example, page 7 of eBook, the phone talks about the consequences of not having a password on your phone which might cause another person to access our contacts, messages and read or write messages on all our accounts that we log into through our phones. Thus, this is evident that a mobile device without a password is very insecure to your personal information
In general, I consider my greatest strength in the case study tutorials to be a confidence and willingness to contribute, which is certainly something I have struggled with in the past (during A levels, etc.). Having gained experience in group work and in leading a group project in my foundation year at Keele, I now find it far easier to speak up in these situations. I consider myself to generally be a very quiet person, so it has taken a lot of development to get to the point where I am able to speak out loudly and clearly. I am pleased with what I have achieved in this regard.
Why have we not found these people? Many people ask this question and there is not an obvious answer. When police first get a report of a missing person they identify what level of risk the person is in. There are 3 classifications of risks: low, medium, and high. Low risk means that the person is in no apparent danger from others or to themselves. Missing people under the age of 18 should not ever be put into the low risk category. Medium risk means that they are likely in danger or dangerous to themselves or others. High risk means that the person is very likely to be in immediate danger or the victim of a serious crime. However, that being said, it is extremely rare to have an abduction or murder case. They do happen, but most missing people are runaways or just wanted to start a new life. After the police assess the risk, they may send out officers. Officers are sent immediately if it is a high risk case. Als...
