All forms of bullying can lead into a major or minor incidents. In the past decade, there have been multiple cyber, physical and verbal bullying that ended with the victims taking their own lives. Two major cases of bullying are the Ryan Halligan case which happened around 2000 and Amanda Todd which occurred in 2012. Ryan Halligan and Amanda Todd were both cases of cyberbullying but happened at different times. Ryan was a 13 year old student from Vermont. He was being bullied by his classmates in school and cyber bullied online. A fun, fragile and extremely intelligent boy, Ryan was threatened and insulted. He didn't want his parents finding out about what was going on. Therefore, he went online and founds ways to end his life with the help of pro- suicide websites. …show more content…

Ryan had a learning disorder but that never stopped him from wanting to learn. He told his dad that he was constantly being taunted at school but his dad had told him that words don't hurt and that he should ignore it. On October 7,2003 Ryan committed suicide and seven months after Ryan's death, Vermont Bully Prevention law act was signed. On the other hand, Amanda Todd's case was also similar to Ryan Halligans because she was also cyber bullied. She was born in 1996 and Amanda was a happy easy going person. She met an anonymous person on Facebook who flattered her so much to the point she flashed her topless body to him. Few years later, some person sent her the same picture and it went viral. Amanda had to change school a several times because it created a mass of bullying. She was beaten up by some of her classmates . Few months later she took her own life.
