Rosa Louise McCauley Parks historically known as Rosa Parks, was born February 4,1913 in Tuskegee, Alabama and past away from natural causes at age 92, on October 24,2005 in Detroit, Michigan. Parks lived with her mother Leona McCauley and her father James McCauley. Ater on in 115 her brother was born Sylvester Parks her only sibling.Both of park’s parents worked, her mother was employed as a teacher and her father was employed as a carpenter . Some time later after Parks’s brother was born her mother and father separated. Once the separation was final, Parks moved with her mother to Pine Level, Alabama while her brother and father moved to Montgomery, Alabama. parks was homeschooled by her mother until age 11 and attended Industrial

The quote parks stated is what she has actually lived by. For example Parks took a stand to segregation and racism. Parks lived during a time that was difficult for African Americans, but she did not let that stop her. Parks is one of the most recognized African Americans who has changed the world unitendely. Rosa list of 5 award are in 1979 the Spingarn Medal, in 1995 the Golden plate award , in 1996 the Presidential Medal of Freedom, in 1999 the Congressional Gold Medal , and in 2000 the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. Parks has outstanding, amazing awards due to her dignity and intelligence. Rosa Parks attended a segregated school until the 11th grade when she left school to take care of her grandmother. Instead of returning to school she got a job as a seamstress in a factory. Biography states, “When Rosa was 19 years old, she met and married Raymond Parks, a barber and an active member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People” (Biography, 2014). These actions were never thought to be fair. Even as a child, Rosa protested against disrespectful treatment. On December 1st, 1955, Rosa had started the Montgomery Bus Boycott. On that day, she was asked to moved to the back of a Alabama bus for a white citizen to sit down. She refused. Little do people know, twelve years earlier, blacks were allowed to pay at the front of the bus but were not allowed to walk past whites to get to their segregated section. So, they were required to get off the bus and re-enter through the back entrance. So one rainy day, the driver allowed Parks to walk past to get to a seat, purposely sitting in a white citizens, acting as if she was picking up her purse.
