Opening Event: An amnesiac young man wakes up in pain by a bloody empty police car. Stunned by his bloody reflection in the mirror, he suspects that he might be some kind of criminal and runs away when he hears the sound of incoming police cars (which in fact is just his hallucination).

Basic Situation: He runs into a shabby motel Heaven Inn and randomly makes up a fake name “Sam” to check in, but realize that he carries no money.

Disturbance: When the protagonist is about to leave the motel, a stranger calls him by his fake name across the room. The stranger, police detective Preston, claims that he is the protagonist’s old partner and is willing to pay for the protagonist’s accommodation if they can work together as partners on a murder …show more content…

“Sam” decides that the situation is too sketchy to be true but fails at his attempts to secretly leave the motel as every time he steps outside he is attacked by an excruciating pain in the spine.

Crises: As the protagonist gradually accepts his temporary identity as “Sam” the detective, the dead body of the murder case disappears from the crime scene, causing a panic among motel residences and leading people to believe that the murderer is back.

Obstacles: During his investigation, “Sam” falls in love at the first sight with the motel maid Vienna, who is later found brutally killed in the elevator. As noticed by Preston, Vienna’s death crushes and confuses “Sam”. Preston asks “Sam” to take a few hours off .

Complications: Stumbling back to his room drunk, “Sam” finds a woman in red dress Margaret smoking on his bed. Margaret listened to “Sam’s” crying and confessions about his fake identities and seduces him into sex.

Dark Moment: “Sam” wakes up alone in his bed, regretting telling Margaret his secrets. He soon realizes that Margaret is be taken by the murderer from the message the murderer left on his bath room mirror. Meanwhile, the motel residences including Preston are disappearing one by
