Romeo in William Shakespeare's Play Throughout the play Romeo’s character develop, as he is able to mature and gain a two-way love. I sympathies for Romeo to a certain extent as he is a tragic young man in many places; he tries to protect himself as well as others. Although Romeo tries to protect lives he annoys me as he is moody throughout the first act and is not able to come out of his depressing mood. Romeo is madly in love with a woman called Rosaline but as soon as he sets eyes on Juliet falls in love with her, this shows Romeo is not a strong young man as his emotions and feelings change suddenly. Romeo’s conducts does annoy me when he is depressed due to unrequited love from Rosaline, when he is depressed and moody he hides himself so know one can find him, as he would like alone time; he asks for his cousins Benvolio for advice but then ignores him. “Alas that love, whose views are muffled still, Should, without eyes, see pathways to his will!” Romeo is selfish and only does what he wants to do, he asks for advice and ignores it and still expects Benvolio to listen to him, and this shows he is immature and selfish. Romeo also gets another good piece of advice from Benvolio but fails to take it. “By giving liberty unto thine eyes, Examine other beauties” Benvolio is trying to get Romeo to look outside Rosaline but once again pays no attention to him. This shows that Romeo is selfish and does not like listening to others advice even if he has asked for it. I sympathies for Romeo when the passion between him and Juliet becomes uncontrollable as their love can not be for filled due to an ‘ancient grudge’ between the two families, it makes you sympathies as their love for each other is genuine and he is trying to put Juliet before himself. By putting Juliet before himself Romeo shows that he has more control of himself and believes in love

Although they are the basis of William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, these main characters are dull, undynamic, and do not specifically appeal to certain readers. Nurse could be considered as a more interesting character because she brings her wit, drama and insight into the plotline.

Romeo and Juliet Although Romeo and Juliet become inextricably smitten with one another, they both enter into the relationship from different perspectives. Their love is strong, but each has their reasons for the intensity of their love. Romeo has just come out of another ?crush?. He has liked Rosaline for quite awhile, but things do not work out because the feelings are not mutual. Romeo sees that Juliet is a beautiful lady that he falls in love with right away, while he attends the Capulet Party. Juliet also instantly falls in love with Romeo, but it could be more of an escape for her.
William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet At the beginning of the play Romeo and Juliet, Juliet is portrayed as
William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. In Shakespeare's plays he very rarely used original ideas. Most of the plays he wrote, such as "Romeo and Juliet," were adapted from other people's stories. Shakespeare used these ideas as basic outlines for his plays.
William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet The prologue is read by a News Reporter on television. One line says from ancient grudge to new mutiny, this shows that the families have had a grudge for a long time. Another line says civil blood makes civil hands unclean this means that the fighting is upseting the public members. Another line says a pair of star cross’d lovers take their lifes this is talking about Romeo and Juliet.
In the play, Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare reveals an underlying message that points to the contrasts between youth and age that are even apparent now today. The youth of society tend to question and then possibly disregard the rules that are important to their parents if they do not have good reason to believe in these rules. The rebellious actions of youth can eventually cause their own untimely destruction. We see today in the headlines many instances where teens have followed their own unguided course bringing about tragic results. Shakespeare shows us in his play how these factors contributed to the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet.
What comes to mind when you hear the names Romeo and Juliet? I think of love, hate, and most of all tragedy. It is a tragedy because their love led to their deaths and because Romeo and Juliet were responsible for their own destiny. From the start to the end of their love affair they knew they were going against their parents’ wishes. Romeo and Juliet also made selfish and immature decisions. And as we all know, it was Romeo and Juliet who chose to kill themselves. All of these things contributed to their premature deaths.
English Coursework: Shakespeare Knowledge of the play Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet was based on a poem about an Italian couple. Shakespeare based "Romeo and Juliet" on a long, boring poem by Arthur Brooke called "The Tragical Historie of Romeus and Juliet." But Brooke's poem was based on a French story by Pierre Boaistrau, and this story was taken from Italian writer Matteo Bandellom, whose story is supposedly a true account from the 11th century. And this chain goes back all the way to a Greek story from around the year 400 A.D. Introduction ‘Romeo and Juliet’ was set in Verona, Italy. I believe that Shakespeare set this play in Verona because the play was originally based on a poem of an Italian couple ‘Romeus and Juliet’.
At the start of the play, Romeo acts like a young boy with a crush. He
Toward the beginning of the play, Romeo is saddened by his first love, Rosaline. There is little information about her in the play, but it is known that she broke Romeo’s heart. His amorous heart shows itself throughout the play through his words and actions. From Act I to Act II, Romeo is depressed because of Rosaline’s rejection, but as soon as he lays his eyes on Juliet, he falls in love. Romeo exclaims “O’. She doth teach the torches to burn bright!”(I, V) Without even communicating with Juliet, he proclaims his love. Romeo then proceeds to approach her and woe her into a kiss. His straightforward manner shows his amorous side. It didn’t take long for the two lovers to get married...
The play, Romeo and Juliet takes place in the city of Verona, Italy. Two households, the Montagues and the Capulets, have been disrupting the peace of Verona for many years due to a feud that started a long time ago. But this feud between the Montagues and the Capulets does not stop Romeo and Juliet from falling in love with each other. But they do end up killing themselves because of a plan that lacked communication and right timing. Because of their death, the age-old feud between the Montagues and the Capulets is finally stopped.
In William Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet play, the character that I took interest in and thought that helped with unfolding the plot the most would be Juliet. Juliet played a very big role because she was the star crossed lover of Romeo Montague. In my slide, I pulled out a few quotes that I found that focused on Juliet’s personality. Juliet provides a pure and beautiful personality. Romeo says “It is the east, and Juliet is the sun” (2.2.3) while she enters the balcony for their kissing scene. To interpret this, it meant as a comparison, as Romeo expresses Juliet’s beauty and radiant glow. Romeo falls in love with Juliet at first sight and he truly shows compassion for her. To symbolize her beauty and glow, I chose to put a picture of a sun.
William Shakespeare's Romeo And Juliet The two chief families in Verona were the rich Capulets and the Montagues. There had been an old quarrel between these families, which was grown to such a height, and so deadly was the enmity between them, that it extended to the remotest kindred, to the followers and retainers of both sides, insomuch that a servant of the house of Montague could not meet a servant of the house of Capulet, nor a Capulet encounter with a Montague by chance, but fierce words and sometimes bloodshed ensued; and frequent were the brawls from such accidental meetings, which disturbed the happy quiet of Verona's streets. Old lord Capulet made a great supper, to which many fair ladies and many noble guests were invited. All the admired beauties of Verona were present, and all comers were made welcome if they were not of the house of Montague. At this feast of Capulets, Rosaline, beloved of Romeo, son to the old lord Montague, was present; and though it was dangerous for a Montague to be seen in this assembly, yet Benvolio, a friend of Romeo, persuaded the young lord to go to this assembly in the disguise of a mask, that he might see his Rosaline, and seeing her compare her with some choice beauties of Verona, who (he said) would make him think his swan a crow.
