What is music? Music is a very broad word that can mean and reflect several and different points of view. I don’t know about you, but to my understanding music is freedom of speech in the expression of feelings and emotions. Depending on the type of music base on genre, everyone tends to listen towards what their heart desires. Within the different types of genre, there are artists and bands that explore these genres and paint their points of view on how to express it. Artists such as the Weekend and Romeo Santos are two of my favorite artists that I love to listen on a daily basis, but what makes these artists so special? Romeo Santos and the Weekend may have differences in language, but they have several similarities that stands out to me …show more content…

Every artist has their own personal style about releasing ones point of view about society. In this case, Romeo Santos and the Weekend are considered to be a lady’s man therefore their style of music deals with intimacy and love. One of many songs from the Weekend (shameless), reflects off emotions about a female with a broken heart. As a result, for a female not to get caught up in another relationship and potentially break up with his/her spouse; a female finds a lover, but with no commitment. This would be considered intimacy whereas Romeo Santos also applies the same idea but in a merely different view. For instance, one of Romeo Santos songs talks about a female telling her closes friends about an affair. The affair only occurs because the female is not happy or satisfy with her lover, therefore she finds another lover that pleases her needs or happiness. Love songs from the Weekends is another style to his music just as Romeo Santos. Commonly, both artists have slow down beat tempo songs which indicates love beat tempos to their style of music.
