Have you ever been in love before,do you think teen could fall in love? What if I told you my parents have been together since they were fourteen, and that Romeo and Juliet fell in love at the age of fourteen. In an article about Mel magazine it says that "seventy eight percent of high school sweethearts that wait till they are twenty five to get married are still together past ten years." It is possible for teenagers to fall in love because of trust, loyalty, and influence.
Teens can fall in love, just like Romeo and Juliet. In Romeo and Juliet there is a scene where Juliet is in her tower and Romeo is below, but she doesn't know and she just goes on of how much she loves him. Then in act 2 scene 2 Romeo says to Juliet “Just call me your love, and I will take a new name.” Romeo risked his life to see Juliet at night. This is stating that teens can love at a young age because of loyalty. Also when Romeo was banished Juliet waited for him even though he was deprived from her she was loyal to him and still wanted to be with him.

Juliet even risked being deposed and being disacknowlage by her dad. Also juliet wanted to be with Romeo so badly after he was banished, so she agreed to take a vile of potion that will make her seem deceased. After her “funeral” Romeo will come rescue
The teen years is an emotional time for teenagers. One of the many responsibilities as one grows is for a teen and parent to understand one another. Relationships are hard for many teens, but being in a relationship is even harder when their parents do not support them. In the play , Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare shows what could possibly happen if parents do not accept the relationships of their children.
Romeo and Juliet is known as one of the greatest love stories, but it has its fair share of tragedy as well. The story riddles with themes throughout. Love is the first theme and there is no greater love than the love Romeo and Juliet share. Shakespeare offers his audiences just as much hate as love in Romeo and Juliet. The families of both Romeo and Juliet involve themselves in centuries of feuding. The ongoing feud between the Montagues and Capulets drives Romeo and Juliet into a life of secrecy, which ultimately causes their deaths. Youth is another theme and ties directly to how young both Romeo and Juliet are both in their age and their relationship. The story of Romeo and Juliet uses sex as a theme as well although not in the intimate details of more modern stories. The two lovers concerns are not with the wishes of their warring families, they just want to be together “Deny thy father and refuse thy name / Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn by my love / And I’ll no longer be a Capulet” (2.2.34-36). Love is the first theme Shakespeare displays in this play.

In Romeo and Juliet by an English playwright and poet William Shakespeare, Friar Lawrence is an important secondary character who designs solutions for Romeo and Juliet and brings the play into the dramatic results. The failure of his plan causes the tragedy of death for both main characters at the end of the story. In The Sound of Waves, Shinji Kubo, a young and poor fisherman in Uta-Jima falls in love with Hatuse, a rich man’s daughter. Shinji and Hatsue try to be together throughout the book, but encounter many difficulties with their neighbors. Shinji’s mother tries to help Shinji and Hatsue by asking many people and going to shrines to beg the gods for help to get them together.
A character goes through many changes that depend on the kind of events they experience. The play “Romeo and Juliet” written by William Shakespeare, uses different tones and language that shows the readers that Juliet, a Protagonist, changes over time, proving the idea that she is a dynamic character. At the beginning of the play, we are introduced to a young, innocent and inexperienced girl, Juliet the daughter of Lord Capulet . She has not yet seen the real world and is raised by the person she trusts most, her nurse. Juliet begins as a naive child who has thought little about love and marriage, but she grows up quickly upon falling in love with Romeo, the son of her family’s great enemy. Due to the fact that Juliet is a girl in an aristocratic family, she has none of the freedom Romeo has to rome around the city, climb over walls in the middle of the night, or get into swordfights. As we begin to learn more about the character of Juliet, we learn that Juliet is not the girl she used to be anymore. She is more courageous and willing to break the rules. She goes against her and her family beliefs. In the beginning of the play she obeys her parents. But as the play descends Juliet is disregarding of what her parents say. She is no longer the innocent girl she use to be. Shakespeare use of language helps the reader to see the change in a character that makes them a dynamic character.
Romeo & Juliet Romeo and Juliet was a tragedy, but it did not have to be. Many things could have been done to prevent their deaths. Many characters contributed to their deaths. The sole character that was responsible for their deaths is Friar Lawrence. Friar Lawrence is responsible for the deaths of the lovers because he was secretive with their relationship, he was unable communicate effectively, and he had a cowardly persona.
Have you ever met that special someone in high school and fell in love with that person? In Romeo and Juliet, when Romeo and Juliet meet, you can tell by Romeo’s interaction with Juliet that he really loves Juliet. When Romeo meets Juliet, he kisses her hand and tries to impress her. Romeo then decides to visit Juliet at her house while knowing that it might cost him his life should her parents discover him there. They even decide to get married in secret a few days after they met. This shows that it is possible for teenagers to be in love.

This changes my opinion of Romeo and Juliet and leads me to believe that they really could have been in love so young. Romeo and Juliet were a mere 13 and 14 when they claimed to fall madly in love and get married, but this was around the normal marrying age for that time period. “But, soft! what light through yonder window breaks? It is the east, and Juliet is the sun” (Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet). In this time period, young people were very romantically mature and knew about love and did not just marry anyone because there was no such thing as divorce. This makes me think that Romeo and Juliet may have been in love and people were just very critical because the were of rival families.
What would the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet be if Romeo and Juliet were only a few ages older and not teens? Well, there are a conglomerate of possibilities starting with their impulse control, if Romeo and Juliet met when they were, at the very least, twenty-five they may have not acted as impulsive as they did. Maybe Romeo wouldn’t have kissed Juliet during their first meeting and instead would have courted her. Or maybe if Romeo didn’t propose on their second meeting they could have had a long marriage that united their families, and maybe if Romeo didn’t slay Tybalt he wouldn’t have been banished and wouldn’t have brought about his own demise. Although Romeo and Juliet say they love each other and even go as far to kill themselves for each other, this is most likely an extreme form of lust and not love. At the Capulet party, Romeo and Juliet lock eyes and are instantly attracted to each other. Although Romeo never personally met Juliet at the time, Romeo fell in love with her beauty.
It is important for young teens to have fun, feel accepted, and be loved. Romeo provided all of these for Juliet. He flattered Juliet and showered her with affection and promises of love when they spoke at Juliet’s balcony. Furthermore, after their marriage Romeo made Juliet content by spending the night with her. All these actions were amplified in Juliet’s mind as her nucleus accumbens, the pleasure center of her brain, has an exaggerated response to rewards (Emonds). The combination of an over amplified pleasure center and an underdeveloped executive center leads to risky decisions simply for exhilaration (Emonds). A Study of Teenage Infatuation in William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. Love and infatuation are both strong emotions that most will encounter within their lifetime. The two feelings are often misunderstood, but are differentiated through their outcomes and stability. True love does not only rely on physical attraction, but also on one’s personality. When one is truly in love, they accept their partner’s flaws and perfections.
Young love is a very deep immature feeling, which tends to misguide those affected by it, and the affected ones fall too deeply in love, which leads to a tendency of self-destruction. The concept of the young misguiding love is emphasized in the drama, Romeo and Juliet, by William Shakespeare. Romeo and Juliet are young when they first see each other and make the mistake of loving each other without knowing their family names. Their deep love without any understanding of the concept of love leads to the young lovers committing suicide, which is a rash decision. They do not embrace their situation, and think about other solutions other than suicide. Romeo and Juliet act on impulse and make rash decisions without thinking about the consequences, which results in self-destruction, because of the burden and the extremity of love.
Although Romeo is immature, it’s unexcused since he’s well onto being an adult by society’s standards, however, Juliet is 14, so for her to be acting like a child is to be expected.
While it is true that most teenagers are impulsive and rash in their decisions, if determined enough, a teenager is capable of making well-reasoned and mature choices. This ability to think through options and remain dedicated and loyal to an idea or person allows for some teenagers to not only fall in love, but maintain a mature relationship.
