No one person is to blame for the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet but Romeo was a major person that contributed to his death. To begin with Romeo states, ”Shall bitterly begin his fearful date, With this night's revels and expire the term, Of a despised life closed in my breast, By some vile forfeit of untimely death”(Act 1 Scene 4). Romeo says this while he is on his way to the Capulet’s party. He knows that he will find something that night that will lead to his death. Benvolio also tells romeo, “Romeo, away, be gone!, The citizens are up, and Tybalt slain, Stand not amazed: the prince will doom thee death, If thou art taken: hence, be gone, away!”(Act 3 Scene 1). When Romeo kills Tybalt he should’ve have thought through

Friar Laurence states, “For this alliance may so happy prove, To turn your households' rancour to pure love”(Act 2 Scene 3). Friar Lawrence married Romeo and Juliet out of love, but he didn’t think first about the consequences of the marriage. When people are in love they can be blind to what their love can do, and in this case their love blinded Friar into marrying them. Friar also said, “Hold; get you gone, be strong and prosperous, In this resolve: I'll send a friar with speed, To Mantua, with my letters to thy lord”(Act 4 Scene 4). If the letter with the plan written on it had made it to Mantua then Romeo would have not gone to see Juliet and wouldn’t think she dead. If he didn’t think she was dead then he wouldn’t have killed himself. This entire play revolves around miscommunication, all they had to do was tell someone who wasn’t caught up in the
The ill-fated lovers, the ill-disposed parents and the ill-mannered prince all contribute to the deaths. Because of their decisions and because of their behaviors and characteristics they play their parts in the conflicts. The Prince is to blame because he failed to fulfill his duty to the people of Verona. The parents are to blame for the neglecting of their children and for demanding marriage. And the lovers are to blame for their rash decisions. Those are the culprits in Romeo and Juliet of the deaths and demise of all and they carry the burden of blame.

The play is mostly a comedy up until the death of Mercutio, it turns into a tragedy from then on. I believe the most to blame for Romeo and Juliet's death is Capulet. I say this because Capulet forced Juliet to marry a man she does not love or have feelings for. But she loves Romeo but he is a Montague. Capulet hates Montagues so he would not allow it if she told him.
“For never was a story of more woe than this of Juliet and her Romeo.” Romeo and Juliet were in love and the Friar decided to marry them, but after they were married, they would never be able to live a long and happy life with each other. Though the Friar was a father to Romeo he should not have given Juliet the potion and he should have just taken Juliet away at night so she and Romeo can be together again. Friar Laurence is the one to be blamed for every tragic that has happened.

However, the influence of other characters combined with fate contributed to their untimely end. Although many characters had roles in the events leading to the deaths of Romeo and Juliet, ranging from their respective parents forbidding their love, to the apothecary who supplied Romeo with his means of suicide, only one person is truly responsible for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. In conclusion, the three characters were responsible for Romeo’s and Juliet’s death because they were stubborn. Who is responsible for the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet. The person that is the most responsible for the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet is Tybalt because without his interference they would have been no banishment and Paris would have wanted to get married as early and the prince would not have lost Mercutio which would have stopped this whole process.
Romeo’s decision to kill Tybalt is an example of Romeo’s irrationalism because the fight could have been avoided. Furthermore, this fight banished Romeo from Verona which resulted in many more situations which all led to the death of Romeo and Juliet. Next, when Romeo drank the poison next to Juliet, he was very quick to act.
