Whenever something bad goes down, we always want to blame someone else but ourselves. In the case of Romeo and Juliet, Friar Lawrence is the real person to blame. People think that he's the one who was trying to put things back together for the families, but really he wasn't. Giant problems that the Friar ended up causing happen include about three different deaths, lying people and his own selfishness. The Friar may look like the innocent one here, but he isn't. People may think that he is innocent because he was trying to make the two children happy towards the end, but really he was trying to save his own skin. If there is anyone to blame here, it's the Friar.
Towards the end of this story, the Friar ended up causing three deaths: Paris, Romeo and Juliet. Let's start with Paris. He had come into the tomb to pay respect to his Juliet, and he ended up finding Romeo there. Romeo had come because he was told that Juliet was dead. ...l that you were acting like you were in love without really knowing what love means. But come on, inconsistent young man, come with me. I’ll help you with your secret wedding. This marriage may be lucky enough to turn the hatred between your families into pure love. (Act 2, Scene 3, Line 87-92 Friar to Romeo- Shakespeare William.) The Friar couldn’t have cared less about the two, all he wanted was to make sure that he had a job and that the fighting between the families was ended.
As one can see, the real person to blame here is the Friar because he was the one who ended up causing three deaths -if not more-, lying, and he wasn’t even concerned about the two children. The Friar is an inconsiderate person, and he shouldn’t have married the two children. Even though many may think that it was a good thing, it really wasn’t. We always blame everyone but ourselves.
