The 1st document was written by PBS. This document was on http://www.pbs.org/empire/romans/empire/christians.html and was under the name “The Roman Empire”. I found this document to be bias because, it show’s that Paul was a good guy and preaching to the poor people in the middle east versus saying that he was forcing his beliefs on poor people under the rule of the Roman Empire.
The second document was from the Christian New Testament which mainly spoke about Jesus. This document from the New Testament is found in Acts on Chapter 16. This discusses Paul’s arrest in Phillpi (city in the Roman Empire). According to the document, this event happened in 49 CE (common era). This document is bias because it portrays the Romans as the bad guys and the Jews and Christians as the victims. In the second passage Paul and Silas were beaten because they were Christians that were mistaken for Jews and were beaten because according to the Romans were spreading “propaganda” by talking about Jesus and God. …show more content…

According to the passage 1st, I observed that the people in power were the Romans who were polytheistic. They completely rejected the idea on only one God or Christianity. The people who didn’t follow the beliefs of the Romans were usually poor and had no use for when they lived in the middle east according to the passage. Paul would preach to the poor about the savior Jesus Christ (according to the passage) . According to the 2nd passage in Document A, it shows how low class the Jews and Christians were treated. The solider stated, “These men, being Jews, are agitating our city, and advocate customers which is not lawful for us to accept or to observe, being Romans.” To sum this quote that came directly from the passage basically is saying, “ These men are ruining the city because they are not Roman and preaching about another religion to the poor.” This shows how the Romans discriminated against the Jews and
