The logistics and transportation industries are involved in the physical movement of persons and goods. logistics specifically refers to the transportation of good, material and/or products. Sometimes in doing so it may include management of freight, storage, inventory and packing. Logistics and transportation encompass a wide range of activities and it also plays a vital role in the growth of the philippine economy. A thought out extreme competition and grows in global trade gives higher value of tr service sector where transportation, communication and storage is a high component. Given this, there is a consistent demand and supply of work and opportunities in different sectors. The occupations in the transportation and logistics industry in the philippines represented a broad spectrum, from many self-employed tricycle operation to highly complex jobs like piloting aircraft. Road sectors workers are generally consist of drivers, conductors, operators, tour guides, heavy equipment operators, inspectors, dispatchers, other support staffs, and mechanics. Rail sectors workers are many consist of of train operations, engineering operations, and other support services. Occupations in the port sectors usually provides services for loading and unloading ships, passengers and cargo while those in the shipping sectors refer mainly to jobs onboard commercial water vehicles, namely those on deck, engineering departments and services. jobs in the service departments of international cruise ships are the fastest growing segment in the category of seafarers. Air transportation workers are mainly involved in air service operations, aviation engineering operations, airport terminal services, aure traffic controllership and airport-related support services. In general, transport and logistics activities are characterized by taking responsibility for transporting other people’s lives and goods,and the watchword and guiding principle in the industry is safety. Safety regulations and procedures are embodied by law or a specific industry regulation implemented by the different agencies.
