The term "rocket scientist" is sometimes used to identify a person of great intelligence since "rocket science" is understood as a practice requiring great mental power, particularly technical and mathematical power. The term is used ironically in the expression "It's not rocket science" to indicate that a task is simple. Rocket scientist is normally associated with Aerospace Engineers. Aerospace is a specialized branch of engineering which deals with the design and development of the aircraft's as well as space crafts. Aerospace engineers may develop new technologies for use in aviation, defense systems, and spacecraft. They often specialize in areas such as aerodynamics fluid flow; structural design; guidance, navigation, and control; instrumentation …show more content…
Aerospace engineering requires in-depth skills and understanding in physics, mathematics, aerodynamics and materials science. These professionals must be familiar with advanced materials such as metal alloys, ceramics, polymers and composites, the BLS said. This knowledge allows engineers to predict the performance and failure conditions of designs before they are even built. Aeronautical Engineers needs to be alert, have an eye for detail and high level of mathematical precision because a single error could cost company …show more content…
This degree is equivalent to an aeronautical engineering degree. Those with a degree in electronics, mathematics or physics can also find opportunities in this area. For M. Tech program in aeronautical engineering one should have completed a degree in (BE/BTech) aeronautical engineering or any other equivalent branches of engineering. One can even look for alternate courses such as Aircraft Manufacturing and Maintenance Engineering, Aviation Management. Aerospace engineers basically design, construct, and test aircraft, missiles, and spacecraft. They conduct basic and applied research to evaluate adaptability of materials and equipment to aircraft design and manufacture. Aerospace engineers can specialize in designing different types of aerospace products, such as commercial and military airplanes and helicopters; remotely piloted aircraft and rotorcraft; spacecraft, including launch vehicles and satellites; and military missiles and
According to Miller, Ron. The History of Rockets. N.p.: Grolier, 1999. Print. "The forces of action and reaction, which propel the rocket forward, occur the moment the fuel is burned-before the exhaust leaves the engine." (Miller 10). the combustion within the motor is burning the fuel (reactants) causing the exhaust (products) to leave the motor pushing the rocket up.
One Friday night, the Parker family gathered around their 1962 television to watch the nightly news. When watching, the news reporter described the near future plans for the trip to the moon. The family, thinking quietly to themselves, had much doubt in their minds. The father turned to his wife in confusion and said “People on the moon? That is crazy! I have never heard of such a thing.”
One of the first devices to successfully employ the principles essential to rocket flight was a wooden bird. Natalie Wood en shuttlecock. The writings of Aulus Gellius, a Roman, tell a story floor of a Greek named Archytas who lived in the city of Tarentum, now a part of southern Italy. Somewhere around the year class 400 B.C., Archytas mystified and amused the citizens of Tarentum by flying a pigeon made shuffling of wood. Escaping steam propelled the bird suspended on wires.
Aerospace engineering can be a menacing career for most people. These types of engineers plan the construction of aircraft, ballistic missiles, and other devices that are propelled from Earth. However, it is a very interesting profession. From developing missiles for the U.S. Army to making commercial airline components, it’s a very demanding job. As an aerospace engineer, you must meet strict deadlines and high standards. Personally, I want to be an aerospace engineer for two reasons: I like solving problems and I’ve always had an interest in aircraft. To be able to send an object off of the earth in such a capacity amazes me. It is important to know the education requirements, salary, and skill requirements for an aerospace engineer.
An aerospace engineer is a planer and builder of things such as planes, missiles, helicopters, weapons, and many things involving aerodynamics. Aerospace engineers are very important in today’s time, because they are key in creating and innovating new flying machines. They have been important in keeping todays transport and trade systems alive and thriving (“Aerospace Engineers Aerospace”). Aerospace engineers also test many different types of aircraft over and over again to make sure they are safe for the public. In addition to having many different task they have to accomplish, aerospace engineers also have many duties they must cover.
Scientists continue on the journey to Mars as NASA plans to send people deeper into space than ever before. Therefore, they would like to send people to Mars and the surface of asteroids. Before that is accomplished, NASA will analyze an asteroid to learn about the risks that may pose to future humans. The most powerful rocket yet, is scheduled to launch in 2018. Information from this rocket will enhance NASA’s understanding of asteroids.
I have always taken an interest in space travel and what lies beyond or observable universe, or even in it. The private sector company I have chosen for this paper is SpaceX. Currently, this company deals in space transport with an end goal of reducing costs and ultimately, the colonization of Mars. Being that I am highly interested in building mechanical engines, rockets, or anything really that has to do with combustion, SpaceX is currently the leader in making the strongest rockets available, while still managing to maintain a lower cost than their competition. I believe that life on Mars is a possible scenario and with the human species slowly killing off the planet with not much hope in the distant future, a very much necessary
To become an aerospace engineer one needs an abundant amount of education. Getting a good education will help one get the job in aerospace engineering. One must have knowledge in English. English is important because one must communicate with other people. One must also be able to read and write in English. The next thing one would need is having a lot of knowledge in math. Having knowledge in math is the most important school subject in the field of aerospace engineering. Without having knowledge in math one would never become an aerospace engineer. Math is like the primary necessity that one would need. Also without math one would not be able to calculate the answers to complicated problems in the field of aerospace engineering. Aerospace Engineers would need to have a lot of knowledge in science. Science meaning physics, chemistry etc. Physics is a subject that would in some way would tie together with math somehow. Both physics and math deal with calculating complicated equations (Aerospace Engineers). The next education an aerospace engineer would need is one would need a qualified degree to actually become an aerospace engineer. One of the lowest types of degrees an aerospace engineer would need is just a bachelor’s degree. One wouldn’t have gotten enough education with a bachelor’s degree but still is a qualified degree and can become an aerospace engineer with the degree (Aerospace Engineers). To get a senior position or to be in an advanced research position one would need a doctoral degree or a master’s degree. To re...
They focus on designing major aircraft parts, creating new engines/propulsion systems and developing vehicle regulatory systems. Aerospace engineers also work with computer simulations to test designs. What are the working conditions? Aerospace engineers work for aerospace product/parts manufacturing companies, engineering consultancy corporations, and government agencies.
Some colleges offer a degree in aerospace engineering; others offer a more generalized engineering degree with some coursework in aerospace engineering. These courses might include aerospace guidance systems, extreme-altitude material science, and the physics of high-altitude radiation. Internships, summer jobs, and any experience in the field are helpful, as entry into this industry is highly competitive. Many aspirants may need to relocate to California, Washington State, or Texas, where the majority of defense industry aerospace work is done, to work for companies such as NASA, Boeing and Lockheed Martin. Two years into their job an aerospace engineer can be planning on being Junior members of research staff are swamped with work, both in the lab and in offices, crunching data and organizing research.
The word engineer comes from the latin word ingeniare. ingeniare means construct or craftsmanship. Ever since the beginning of time we have had engineers. Engineering is the combination of math and science , solving world problems to help better the world around us. Being an engineer takes a lot of knowledge, creativity, and hard work. A typical engineer can clearly see a problem and is capable of fining a solution. A senior engineer or engineering manager usually doesnt do as much technical work, but usally lot of managing. Some of the first official engineers were military engineers. They were employed by the goverment to build such things as roads, bridges, and weapons. US mililary Academy at Westpoint was the first school to offer an education in enginnering. Engineering is a very broad field. Engineers are always at a high demand, we could never have enough brilliant minds making the world better. Engineers are needed everywhere. Engineering managers have to have a bachelor's degree or higher, they usually direct and seek solutions to problems and are sometimes called executi...
Engineers are valuable assets to any company because they think analytically. Engineers may advance to become technical specialists or to supervise a staff or team of engineers and technicians. Some eventually become engineering managers or enter other managerial or sales jobs.
The use of the computer has had a positive impact on manufacturing engineering in many ways. Engineering is a term applied to the profession in which a knowledge of the mathematical and natural sciences, gained by study, experience and practice, is applied to the efficient use of the materials and forces of nature. The term engineer denotes a person who has received professional training in pure and applied sciences.
Mechanical engineers is one of the broadest engineering disciplines. They research, design, develop engines and machines. Which makes this field requires a very high knowledge of mechanical physics. The everyday job responsibilities are mainly designing power-producing machines or machines inside buildings. Examples would be engines, elevators, escalators or gas turbines. As a mechanical engineer, you are able
One career in the technological industry is a computer engineer. A computer engineer is a person who designs hardware or software for computers. Computer engineers do research to determine what people want and need to make their lives easier. Computer engineers sometimes work on a team to think of new ideas and concepts. Engineers generally should like activities of a technical nature, problem solving, and math. An engineer should probably like working with numbers and thinking logically.
