Road to the Stamping Ground is a very inspirational documentary. In my opinion, many people should always go out of where they are from to get new ideas and to experience what others are doing around the world. Sometimes, seeing what others are doing can be a very eye opening experience because you see things that you never would have thought of, and in this case this choreographer noticed something unique about the dancers he was paying close attention to. These dancers that he was watching were stomping in a certain way that he had never seen. He then wondered why they were stomping a certain way and how the different noises impacted their dance. There was a gap that was between modern dance and classical ballet, but Nederlands Dans Theater imitated a dance and they earned the reputation of an exciting and most innovative group dancers in Europe. The choreographer was seen as very unique and he got the reputation of having a very rare and personal style. The affection he has for group performance, as well as his very inventive ballets, he shows why he got the reputation of having very rare dances. The choreographer Jiri Kylian decided that he wanted to go to Australia to take a look at the culture, as well as the dance of the Aborigines. The rituals of the Aborigines that are being done today, are the same as the ones that they did so many years ago. As soon as Kylian saw the dances they were performing, he was instantly fascinated, especially by their stomping.
