Part 1: According to Professionalism in Health Care, (Makely, 2013), the practicum experience - For the student, it is the work experience gained by the student (paid or unpaid) at a health care facility. In fact, It is an opportunity for the student to demonstrate occupational competencies and display acceptable standards of behavior; essentially, it is the students chance to gain professional recognition before graduation. In this case, the practicum engages students in 150 hours of real work experience, in which the student functions according to the concepts and principle identified by that particular agency.
