This movie “V for Vendetta” was taken from a book written by Alan Moore and it was written years before all the things that started happening in the world, like the war, and all the problems that the government is going through. He tells us that “the people should not be afraid of the government, that the government should be afraid of their people”. People can realize that there are no coincidences in this world, everything happens for a certain purpose, because it had to happen.
It all starts when an experiment is being made by certain people from the government on real people, innocent people, using those people to create some kind of monsters. Lots of people die in the attempt of the scientist but only one gave them hope. This lab suddenly explodes and all the data is “lost” and only one person survives, all burned, and escapes. An individual from the government takes a virus and contaminates Saint Mary’s school and the 3 waters, where people drank, and it kills about 80,000. Then mysteriously the cure is found and the same chancellor that was ruling, when the lab explodes and chaos was formed, wins the next elections. The guy that escaped wants to have his revenge for what these people made to him and to make the people “remember, remember the 5th of November”. A night when he, V that always worn a mask and his cloak, goes out on the 5th of November, where it all starts, and on his way to his destination he save a women, Evey, from being abused from Nazis that were on the street and takes her to the roof where he says that he is going to direct music. ... him that he was still a man like everyone else. Valerie's love had reminded him that he was loved. And when Evey declared her love for him, it completed him. He was not just a tool or means to accomplishing what no other man would dare, he was a man loved by the woman he loved. This movie shows us that if we can trust a symbol with our ideas and believes we can do everything and that people let things happen because they are afraid. The mask that V used was a symbol too, this mask was the face of Guy Fawkes, the face of Evey’s parents, the face of V, the face of the people, all of us. It is very rare that a movie gives us something, movies are experiences, entertainment but nothing substantial yet this movie challenge and awake us.

Imagine a world where civil liberties have been stripped away, a bare façade of civilization left behind. This is a world that is inhabited by people who were once free-willed and strong-minded. These people have become weak and obedient, easily bent to the will of their oppressive government. The world that these words have conjured up in your mind is the same existence that the characters occupy in Edwidge Danticat’s “A Wall of Fire Rising” and Alan Moore’s “V” for Vendetta. Danticat’s story is about a small family living in present-day Haiti with their small, ambitious son. The country is a mish-mash of people amassing obscene fortune while the rest scrape at the bottom of the proverbial barrel just to make ends meet; the class gap is seemingly far apart. In Danticat’s story, the husband spends his days either working at the sugarcane mill or searching for work elsewhere. Each day the husband watches the mill owner’s son take a hot air balloon up into the sky, and each day becomes more envious of the freedom attached to that action. After complaining to his wife about his exhaustion with their current situation he claims that he wants to take the hot air balloon for himself and leave Haiti for a far-away and better place. The following day, the husband makes good on his word, abandons his family, and takes the hot air balloon up into the sky. In James McTeigue’s version of “’V’ for Vendetta”, the country is a futuristic and dystopian London. Corrupt politicians control every aspect of the country and the citizens within. Unfortunately, corruption is government is a phenomenon far too prevalent in today’s world. In the movie V for Vendetta, V is attempting to exact revenge for the many homosexuals who were taken and murdered by the government. As one of the few survivors of this genocide, V devotes his life to pursuing those responsible. It is V’s belief that the government has misappropriated too much power from the citizenry and as a result destroyed the nation’s democratic framework. He says, “People must not be afraid of their government. Government should be afraid of their people.” The power should be in the people’s hands, not the government. V uses violence to get his revenge and causes a great deal of chaos and rebellion against the government. He says, “Violence can be used for good.” It is ironic that the only way to fight against this government is through violence, rather than protests. Incohesive, long, and dialogue-heavy, Inherent Vice has all the potential to flounder. Schindler's List, by Steven Spielberg is an award-winning masterpiece - a movie which portrays the shocking and nightmarish holocaust in a three-hour long epic. The documentary touch re-creates a dark, frightening period during World War II, when Jews in Nazi-occupied Krakow were first deprived off , of their businesses and homes, then placed in ghettos and were then forced to labor for no consideration in camps in Plaszow, and finally they were resettled in concentration camps for execution. The violence and brutality of Nazi’s treatment towards Jews is a series of horrific incidents that are brilliantly showcased.
Movies don’t always portait characters correctly. For the most part, the characters will have important details in their life taken out for the sake of entertainment. The Patriot, while an amazing movie, did have a few major inaccuracies. Benjamin Martin, William Tavington, and Jean Villeneuve were all based off of real people from the war. While they were portrait pretty accurately, there were some major differences between the movie and real life.
When viewed by most people, V for Vendetta is just another film about rebellion. To others, it’s a wakeup call to do something about their government and fix the country; even if no one acts on their wakeup call. The two main questions viewers may ask are, why is it so easy to relate and root for a terrorist? And why would the government be fine with a movie that calls them out in multiple ways?

The American President is a romantic comedy that takes place in the White House during primary season. The president is hoping to be reelected and to pass two bills, one on gun control and one on fuel restrictions. During this movie, the president meets Sydney, a lobbyist, and goes out with her, and because of this he takes a hit on his ratings. The American President shows many different themes covered in politics and government 101, these themes are the rolls of the media, polls, primaries and elections, and the process of introducing a bill to congress. This movie also shows the relationship between the executive branch and the legislative branch while detailing the relationship the president has with interest groups, and his White House staff. While covering all this the movie The American President shines a positive light on politicians, this movie showed politicians having a genuine concern in human life and truly wanting to improve life. This movie wasn't all optimism though, it also criticized some politicians for muckraking and it criticized the media and the American public for thinking that the private lives of politicians is their business.
The setting of the film, as a whole, displays Marxist ideas of capitalism. One of the foundational themes of Marxist thought is that, within a capitalist society, there will be a distinct polarization between two classes: The ruling class (bourgeoisie), and those whom they rule over (proletariats) (Korczynski, Hodson, & Edwards, 2006, p. 33). V for Vendetta takes place in a not-so-distant future version of a dystopian England.

In the novel 1984 and the film “V for Vendetta”, the protagonist for both stories are captured while performing various acts of rebellion against the totalitarian government, of which is controlling their city. In punishment, the government tortures them with harsh, inhumane methods that are similar to those used in dictatorships during the 1900s like the USSR under Stalin’s rule. However, both protagonists are tortured by different sides, and by people from completely opposite ends of the political ladder: one a government agent, the other a rebel. Although the themes disclosed in relation to the purpose and meanings of torture are similar, the overall message and final opinion that is expressed and conveyed to the recipients are complete opposites.
What is considered evil depends upon each individual’s view of morality, which constantly changes through the course of that person’s life. Roy Perrett’s “Evil and Human Nature” explains this by elaborating on the customary interpretation of moral evil. This evil, caused by an intentional bad action or harm, opposes another type of evil, natural evil, which occurs without intervention of a human agent. While natural evils, such as hurricanes and disease, may allude to the existence of a greater evil power, moral evils rather exist due to human decision and are more commonly recognized. However, Perrett claims that even the acknowledgement of moral evils, “does not seem to capture what many people have in mind when they talk of evil. Evil is instead often understood to be a very special kind of moral category: it involves not just wrongdoing, but a special kind of intentional wrongdoing” (304). This familiar definition of evil expands upon the vague topic of moral evil, in that the perpetrator of this sinister action enjoys and does not regret ever committing the action. Correspondingly, in order to comply with the currently recognized definition of evil, the action must be done solely because it is wrong and harmful.
