The main subject in the book is the philosopher’s stone and Harry Potter is the main character. And the title is ‘Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone’ so it’s not that hard to understand the title.

The author is Joanne Kathleen Rowling and she is from England.

3. In what area/ country is the story set?
Harry Potter used to live in Godric's Hollow with his parents, until his parents were killed by Voldemort. After his parents death, Harry Potter lived with his Aunt Petunia, Uncle Vernon, and his cousin Dudley in Privet Drive, that lies in the southeast of England. At age eleven, Harry lives at his school, Hogwarts. Hogwarts is somewhere in Scotland, the exact location is a secret. You could say that the story is set in the UK.

4. When is the story set? the story takes place in the time that the book was written, so the late 90 's since modern things like cars in the story, plus nothing implies it might have taken place a longer time ago.
