Responsible Gaming What is Responsible Gaming According to an article on gambleaware.co.uk, “Responsible gambling means staying in control of how much time and money we spend gambling. (gambleaware.co.uk, 2016)” To me, responsible gaming means only taking in what you can afford to lose and walking away when you are ahead. Introduction Gambling is a major problem for some people. It can cause people to have major financial issues, health issues, as well as mental health problems. It can become a problem that tears families apart because of the lies that can be told to cover up for the amount of money lost and put people in debt. Findings In doing research for responsible gaming, I found a lot of helpful resources, as well as information that explains why people can have gambling problems and how they can get help for these problems. Being responsible when gambling is very important, not only for the gambler but for their families and employers. For an individual responsible gambling could mean only gambling for entertainment with small amounts of money. They also understand the risks associated with gambling and go in with a clear head, and knowing the risk of losing. They know that they must have control and not to let it cause problems or harm to themselves or others.
