Graduation Speech
Welcome to our graduation ceremony of 1940. It's an accolade and a privilege to be graduating, I verbally express it’s a privilege because that's what it is. As Nelson Mandela verbally expressed, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”. We wouldn't be where we all are today without an education. We always want to be thankful we got the chance to get an education because most everybody who is prosperous has an education. Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m not verbally expressing you require an education, I’m saying that education is what got people to where they are today. Daniel Hale Williams is a famous African-American surgeon, he had an education which made him prosperous. He is very successful because he tried, he was an amazing surgeon that made history. We as a whole is a potent word, we have the facility to do anything as long as we endeavor and believe we have the potency to. As long

We shall live a prosperous life, and graduation is a component of that. I believe that everybody can be prosperous as long as you endeavor and I additionally believe education is a colossal part of prosperity. When this day is over, and your feeling proud of yourself, you have a choice. You can either perpetuate your education and perpetuate to work on being prosperous. Or you can just quit. You can choose to not perpetuate education. To me, it doesn’t matter, as long you have an endeavor to prosper. As long as you have even an inch of hope that you shall be on top then you are set. Gaining knowledge is important, but getting somewhere in life is just as consequential; however, some people need the knowledge to get somewhere. I do realize that I’m saying education and prosperity or prosperous a lot, and for that, I apologize. But I want to emphasize the fact that to me, those are the key ingredients in
The adversity that was displayed through racial inequalities became a platform for me to trust myself even more along with advocating an example for future young students to neglect any doubt previously conceived of them. It inspired the drive to exhibit triumph and became an ultimate fuel that leads me to the aspiration of love, hope, and success for the years to come. The configuration of a vision of fulfilling my own destiny shaped my undying dream. A dream to say, "I have a
The role of respiration in speech is to provide a column of compressed air so we can produce sounds by pushing it through tightly compacted or nearly closed structures of the vocal tract. We need to be able to breathe in order to speak or else no sound would project and we would be dead without breathing. The compression of air allows us to make three basic sounds that resonate through our vocal tract. It allows us to make sound, phonation, make plosive sounds, sounds that we trap air to build up pressure then release which results in a popping sound, and then a fricative, when we force air through a constricted place which results in a hissing sound.
Hence, a college education is not needed to obtain success. Menand’s ideology on reconstructing education to better fit a variety of people while simultaneously stating that college is not essential to succeed. This essay provides a great amount of information to not only convey his message, but to persuade his reader to follow his ideology on college. While Delbanco only states three reasons as to why a college education is needed. Though many Americans seem to follow a similar trend of attending a higher education after graduating from secondary there are many examples of successful people who never went to college. Both passages displayed that whether one decides to go to college or not, they must first decide what they wish to do in life.
...rican and African American society that education can be a great equalizer in elevating your position in society. This idea would come up again in Chicago, as his co-workers, with whom he shared both success and failure, would congratulate him on his acceptance into Harvard, as they recognized his advancement as a sign of black people’s progress.
Education is the key, and the power source to our future. Living in this day in time, no human should settle for less and not want to attain higher
A college education can broaden one’s career horizons and help them achieve stable employment. Through education one can expand their intellectual capacity along with financial scope. “ The median person with a bachelor 's degree earns about $48,000 per year, compared with $27,000 for a high school graduate, according to the U.S. Census Bureau” (Haltom 14). A college education should allow one to thrive both internally and externally, whilst progressing society along with them into the ever-changing world. These statistics represent the aspired
In the generation we live in now college is not option or privilege. College nowadays is necessity. The big question is that is college education worth it. College can be worth it, but it also is not worth. I will explain why in this paper. A lot of people are successful, and they haven’t stepped a foot in a college, and they are doing better than a person who has received a degree. Both sides of the argument have a view.
Once while your run by speeches that are very powerful and motivational in a sense such as; I have dream speech or in this instance, Michelle Obama’s commencement speech at Bowie State University in 2013. It can be inferred that Obama really cares about pushing and help the next generation to preserve, by pursuing a higher level of education. Not only in her speech does she exudes this excess of exuberance for higher knowledge, but it also seen throughout her valiant efforts throughout one of her programs “Reach Higher Initiative”, which helps revitalize or push young adults and adolescent to continue their education after high school. It is only right throughout Obama’s speech to push education as hard as she did and by doing so she used a
During high school, whether it is by a teacher, parent or classmate a student will be advised to go to college. “College is where you find yourself,” they will say. College is made to seem as the place where students will attain a brilliant education, thus making them feel as though once they are done with the schooling, a dependable job of high pay will appear for them. In our society, college is not a scarce option, but rather, an expectation. For many graduating high schoolers, college is the next step. Attaining a college degree is not necessary for creating a life for us as our civilization makes it out to be.
“You will never know what you are doing until and unless you have done it.” ― Santosh Kalwar. (http://www.goodreads.com/quotes/tag/education?page=11) Throughout the 18 years I’ve lived on Earth, I have learned one thing. Life is nothing but trial and error. You can only learn by learning. You can only experience by experiencing. All my life I took something so vital for granted; pushing it away because I was afraid. I allowed myself to be held back by my trials. I let myself become my problems. I never took an open opportunity like this to better myself, until now. “The whole purpose of education is to turn mirrors into windows.” ― Sydney J. Harris. (http://www.goodreads.com/quotes/tag/education?page=11) My education is my future; a second chance I thought I’d never get. And I’m never turning back. That is what my education means to me.
Education is very crucial part of my life. There is a rapidly growing demand for a higher education in the nation’s economy. Although a higher level of schooling is difficult to receive, the rewards
As the late Nelson Mandela once said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” When it comes to the topic of higher education and if it is worthwhile, strong opinions come into play. Many people believe that higher education is valuable because there are undeniable benefits from the time put forth in college and beyond. On the other hand, some people also believe that college is not for everyone, and all career paths do not require a college degree. Higher education is a valuable tool from which the benefits can been seen in future salaries, personal growth, and in opportunities that arise.
I’ve always believed that working on our education is just basically working for our own future careers. But over the years, I’ve seen many of my friends drop out of school to pursue personal business. I think they leave for two reasons. First, school’s hard. Second, school is really boring. In recent discussions of education and creativity, Sir Ken Robinson states that “Education is what we invest in the future” or in other word education is the key of success. I agree on this statement. But I think even though we didn’t graduate college, we can success in our own way. Why do I say that? Because I see many people who didn’t finish high school or college and turn out to be a successful man and woman now. It’s not because they finish high school or college, but because of their own creativity.
I agree with this saying, because there are plenty of successful people in this world with a college education, but it takes a lot of hard work just to prepare for college. For example, having to take SAT or ACT to maintain a certain score for a school to even consider your acceptance. Being financially stable, if not prepare to find scholarships and prepare essays just to obtain the scholarships. Growing up in a household where your parents want you to do better than they did, because they didn’t get a college education. Also most high salary paying jobs require some type of college degree, so that’s tell a person if you want to make a lot of money get a higher education.
Rich people assume that College is important, but it is not a one way ticket to success, and happiness. However, Middle class people believe that education is important to be successful in the future. Education for middle class student is an important tool that is applied in the modern world to succeed, as it reduces the challenges, which are faced in life. “With nearly half of the nation 's undergraduates enrolled in community colleges,…….are playing an increasingly important role in higher education.”(David Hosansky). The information gained through education allows individuals’ future life to be optimally utilized due to training of the human mind. This eventually opens doors of opportunities for individual to achieve better chance in career growth. Education has played a major role in the modern industrial world. “This is attributed to the fact prospective employees must be qualified adequately to perform various tasks effectively.”(David Hosansky) Industries entail resources that are sufficiently equipped with the modern technology to suit the needs and wants of the society. This makes education to become a norm for services in all industrial
