As a Muslim, I have witnessed various people disrespecting religion by disregarding teachings and coming up with the wrong interpretation of the Quran. Various people have disrespected religion by using it in committing various atrocities. Religion was historically used by the Europeans to subdue and colonize people. Religion is increasingly being used as an instrument for attacking rivals or members of different political beliefs.
