The attackers rushed and ran away because they were so panicked and confused. He became the hero and was the savior of the French public. In 1796, Napoleon was told to lead the French army against the forces of Australia and the kingdom of Sardinia. He won a series of amazing victories. I think all theses success he has had really did help him believe that he could do bigger things and take one more of a challenge. Napoleon had to protect France trade interest and ruin India's

Napoleon Bonaparte ruled in France from 1789 to 1815. Napoleon came to power in 1789 and immediately became a powerful figure in the French government. However, some thought Napoleon was such a great leader. The Napoleonic Empire started to grow France’s territories. Some might have believed that Napoleon was too eager with his rule, while losing and failing to succeed against the power of England, in an attempt to blockade their trade, and of Russia, where he led his army to a defeat and retreat back to France. Even in his success over Spain, the battle still costed Napoleon and his army in men and resources. Napoleon was mostly viewed as a powerful and militaristic leader in some aspects, but others saw him as a coward and terrible leader in other ways.

The book Napoleon by Paul Johnson is a monograph on the life of Napoleon. Napoleon was born on August 15,1769 on an island called Corsica which was a French island south of the mainland. Ironically his future enemy Duke of Wellington was also born in 1769. Napoleon was born in the lower nobility class, and gifted with mathematics. He admired the Royal Navy and wanted to join as a midshipman. At the age of ten, Napoleon left Corsica for a military school in Brienne, France. On completion of his studies at Brienne in 1784, Napoleon was admitted to the elite military school in Paris. He trained to become an artillery officer. His full height was five feet and five inches tall and Napoleon was promoted to first lieutenant by 1791. Napoleon knew that war meant war promotion, and he was eager to move up in command. He controlled the entire army of France by age of 26. He was a genius in artillery and believed that making his opponents fearful on the battlefield means the battle is already half won. A lot of military genius comes from his chief of staff Louis Berthier, who translated his ...
Throughout the history of the world there have been hundreds of wars fought and thousands of new creations and advancements in weaponry, which aided certain sides in their victories. Many of the advancements that played big parts in history took place during the late 18th century proceeding all the way through the 19th century because this was the time period of our important Revolutionary Wars, such as the American Revolution and the French Revolution. The Revolutionary Wars lead to much advancement that helped to define the outcomes of many wars that followed, for instance the impact on military strategies due to the advancement of the rifle during the Napoleonic Wars. The Napoleonic Wars took place just after the French Revolution from roughly 1792 until 1815 when Napoleon Bonaparte took over the French troops and continued to fight Great Britain for European supremacy. Napoleon was always known to be a proud leader and made a proclamation 1796 to his troops in Italy in order to raise their spirits that consisted of quotes such as, “The two armies which but recently attacked you with audacity are fleeing before you in terror; the wicked men who laughed at your misery and rejoiced at the thought of the triumphs of your enemies are confounded and trembling” (Kreis). These wars led by Napoleon consisted of a decade’s worth of wars fought between the British and French that lead up to the defeat of Napoleon at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815, due to the use of advanced weaponry and strategies by the British army (Dugdale).
Orientalism was used back in the 19th century to imitate or depict others nations and their cultures. The Europeans would take impressive feats of architecture or objects from other nations to create their own “better” version. They used orientalism to show how other nations were barbaric and that they were vastly more intelligent. These tactics can be seen in many paintings and buildings where they tried to improve upon other nations works. In some of theses paintings you can see upperclassmen wearing lavish clothes or in other cases black people serving the europeans and being underneath them. Other orientalist artists will take ordinary objects and make them more european by adding expansive material and artwork. Additionally, artists will
It is an indisputable fact that Napoleon Bonaparte greatly changed Europe. It is my position that he was a hero, and changed it for the better. Although I certainly do not agree with some of the methods that he brought about this change, I still agree with the change he wrought. Through him, the era of democracy was ushered in. He helped bring back a basic human right, being that all men are created equal. Nationalism was sparked, feudalism was overthrown, and Europe was modernized. Napoleon changed Europe, and it was a change for the good.
Napoleon Bonaparte should be considered a “benevolent despot” to a near-full extent because while some may argue that Napoleon’s political actions were solely based on self-empowerment due to him limiting the voice of the people, it is important to note that Napoleon’s regime was designed for the purpose of benefiting French society as a whole by implementing various French Revolutionary ideals such as the promise of equal rights amongst all citizens. Hence, through incorporating such ideals, Napoleon was able to gain the support of his subjects, and therefore was able to further expand his empire.
Napoleon was a graduate from military school and was immediately given command of a French Regiment. After leading his men in several pivotal battles in the French Revolution, he was considered a hero by a majority of the French. Napoleon Bonaparte was a French military leader who rose to power during the time of the French Revolution. He eventually crowned himself emperor of France in 1804 after gaining political power. He showed many traits of Enlightenment ideals such as religious tolerance and rational government. When Napoleon rose to power many people supported his ideas and beliefs such as the Napoleonic Code and increased religious freedom throughout his empire, however as time went on and Napoleon’s empire grew, people including women and leaders of other countries began to realize the effect of Napoleon’s actions, causing them to perceive him differently.
During the 19th century in Europe I was sitting in my house when I heard someone say that a French military leader wanted to conquer Europe. ... It is important to understand that since France had just exited a revolution, it was pretty fragile; one big mistake and France might have ended up in another one. Napoleon was not only a child of both the French Revolution and the Enlightenment, he was also a very intelligent person. His cunning and wits led him to be one of the greatest, if not the greatest, enlightened despots of all time. Works Consulted (none of the above).
Napoleon Bonaparte was an interesting ruler in that he was compromised of attributes of both a tyrant and a hero. Napoleon had a strong following throughout his reign and even during his two exiles. He was the emperor of France between 1799 and 1815, following the fall of the Directory. Despite the efforts of the French Revolution to rid the country of an autocratic ruler, Bonaparte came to power as Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte I in 1804. He claimed that he preserved the goals of the Revolution, which can be easily argued as his rule became more dictatorial as it progressed. Despite his departure from some of the gains of the Revolution, he overall was a hero for the French people. Through his military ventures, political changes and social reform, Napoleon proved himself as a hero. This is not to say that there were aspects of his reign that were tyrannical, but he was overall beneficial for France.
