The band members in Maroon 5 are, Adam Levine on lead vocals; Jesse Carmichael on keyboard and rhythm guitar; Mickey Madden on bass; James Valentine on lead guitar; and Matt Flynn on drums. Adam Levine started this band in 1994 known as Kara's Flowers with Jesse Carmichael, Mickey Madden, and Ryan Dusick. In 2001, James Valentine joined the band Kara’s Flowers and the band’s name was changed to Maroon 5. The rumor of how they got their name was from the college they attended (Five Towns College) and the school’s color (maroon). In 2006, Dusick left Maroon 5 because he injured his wrist and shoulder and was then replaced by Matt Flynn. Since starting in 1994, it took them 10 years to get to their prime fame. Their first album was “ Songs About Jane”, that got them many awards and in the spotlight. In the song “Maps”, Adam Levine is trying to get back his girlfriend that had already left him when he was going through hard times. Some lyrics from “Maps” shows the desperation of Levine’s wanting of his lost love. “But I wonder where were you; When I was at my worst; Down on my knees; And you said you had my back; So I wonder where were you.” Another well known song off of the album “V’ is “Animals,” which is a harsher and more intense song about stalking an old love. “Baby, I’m preying on you tonight; Hunt you down, eat you alive; Just like animals, animals like ani-mals.” The meaning of “Animals,” is about someone stalking a girl and watching her all the time in hopes to get her back. Another song that has hit the charts is “Sugar,” which is about Adam Levine singing and pleading to his love. “Sugar; Yes please; Won't you come and put in down on me; Oh right here, 'cause I need; Little love and little sympathy; Yeah you show me good loving; Make it alright; Need a little sweetness in my life; Sugar; Yes please; Won't you come and put it down on me.” The album “V” shows reflections of all the emotional ups and downs of love that one can experience. Love is like a war, there is always love and
Love is undoubtedly a universal theme with numerous characterisations in different genres. David Solway illustrates unrequited love in his poem The Dream as agonising, bewildering and hard to accept by the use of ideas, perspectives and language. In a similar way, Marc Webb’s film 500 Days of Summer and Gavin Degraw’s song Not Over You expresses this representation of unrequited love through their use of ideas, perspectives and language. They effectively translate this representation of unrequited love in their genres in order to create an emotional response from their audiences.
Love can come at unexpected times, through current situations or through memories, and they will always have that permanent effect on us, just like a tattoo. Because of strange stanza breaks, unusual imagery, and elongated punctuation, the reader can determine the deeper meaning of the poem. The two-lined stanzas signify short-lived loves, and the stanza breaks depict the break-ups and passing of loved ones. The imagery of skulls and the metaphor that love is a tattoo shows that love never deteriorates. And lastly, the poem is only two sentences long, so this shows the fluidity and never ending power of love. Too often people take advantage of love, but what they aren’t aware of is that their experiences with each and every person they have loved tattoo their mind to make them into who they are, much like a tattoo permanently inks one’s skin to commemorate a

The Ravens recorded their debut single, a cover of Little Richard's "Long Tall Sally," in January 1964. Before the single was released, the group changed their name to the Kinks. " Long Tall Sally" was released in February of 1964 and it failed to chart, as did their second single, "You Still Want Me." The band's third single, "You Really Got Me," was much noisier and dynamic, featuring a savage, fuzz-toned two-chord riff and a frenzied solo from Dave Davies. Not only was the final version the blueprint for the Kinks' early sound, but scores of groups used the heavy, power chords as a foundation.

Love has the power to do anything. Love can heal and love can hurt. Love is something that is indescribable and difficult to understand. Love is a feeling that cannot be accurately expressed by a word. In the poem “The Rain” by Robert Creeley, the experience of love is painted and explored through a metaphor. The speaker in the poem compares love to rain and he explains how he wants love to be like rain. Love is a beautiful concept and through the abstract comparison to rain a person is assisted in developing a concrete understanding of what love is. True beauty is illuminated by true love and vice versa. In other words, the beauty of love and all that it entails is something true.
Love is a concept that has puzzled humanity for centuries. This attachment of one human being to another, not seen as intensely in other organisms, is something people just cannot wrap their heads around easily. So, in an effort to understand, people write their thoughts down. Stories of love, theories of love, memories of love; they all help us come closer to better knowing this emotional bond. One writer in particular, Sei Shōnagon, explains two types of lovers in her essay "A Lover’s Departure": the good and the bad.

For many of us, one of the most accurate and effective ways to express the feelings that really matter to us is through music. We don’t only grow to attached to songs that are catchy, but also those with lyrics that we can relate to. It is not uncommon to feel like sometimes, artists can convey the way we feel better than we could ourselves. The storybook-like lines you read at the start of this page are a collection of lyrics
... been related to months and seasons maybe because the hidden message of the song is that love is a never-ending cycle (like the seasons). This would indicate that love will inevitably die, but be reborn again, perhaps in the form of someone else or with the same person. This then could lead to the theory that this song was written to be compatible with everything that is loved i.e. a new job, new friend etc and that it often deteriorates through familiarity. Such depth in a song compares to the depth of a poem in terms of the hidden meanings and imagery.
With the music industry also taking to the World Wide Web, these song lyrics and melodies are now easily found anywhere there might be a computer. The songs soothing, slumberous rhythm wraps the world of listeners--the young and old, man and woman, hard rock and contemporary fans--in a cloak of content. Instead of saddening, depressing, or infuriating, the soft melodies and gentle lyrics harmonize to awaken the sense of hope in the hearts, the possibility of love, and the comforting knowledge that we are not lonely souls. Two hearts far apart are thinking of one another in "Somewhere Out There." Each holds on to the belief that life will bring them back together and guide them to their dreams.
...he sweat and painstaking talent artists put into a piece of art. Likewise, when an onlooker sees a couple in love, how are they to distinguish whether it is true love or merely youthful, immature love? For this reason, only experienced lovers are capable of detecting true love in others. The potential beauty of love is held at the mercy of the two lovers. Thus the extent to which the love will mature depends on the unpredictable course the journey of love takes throughout its progressive stages. As with a painting, at it’s beginning, love has the potential to be something powerful and immortal. Easy love is happy, immature love. For love to be deep and meaningful, it must face challenges and overcome adversity. Love is the artwork of nature. Like the beautiful and serene calm after a vicious storm, love is often dangerous and uncomfortable before it can be lovely.
