Our staff tells you who was snubbed as an NBA All-Star starter. Jonathan Ebrahimi () : For starters, I think we all agree that Westbrook was snubbed this year. He’s keeping a largely under-talented Thunder team in the thick of the playoff hunt and is putting up historically great numbers to do it. Out East, there are two players I feel have been overlooked. For starters, Isaiah Thomas has been having a wonderful season for Boston.

However, according to his interview, Nash was considered a player without sufficient talent to be even a good college player in the United States. No college was willing to offer him a scholarship initially, because he was a Caucasian player from Canada. Caucasian players were widely considered as athletic inferior to African players, and Canada was also considered a country that has few talented basketball players. Dreams come and go every night, but some dreams tend to stay for a lifetime. I have always dreamt to become a professional athlete in some way or another. Growing up I have always looked up to many different athletes. Whether it was Ladanian Tomlinson on the football field or Kobe Bryant on the basketball court I have always had some athlete that I wanted to be like someday.
Many people who watch or play basketball always argue who is the best of all time, or which basketball player is better than the other. And the most two basketball players that get compared with each other is Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan. Both of these two players are exciting to watch when they are on the basketball court. Taking a closer look into both of their careers you can see major similarities but you can also see where both of them have their different paths. Even though they both make the basketball world a better place the real question that needs to be answered is who is better.

The NBA is well known for the number of amazing professional athletes it has had over the years. Some of the most gifted and talented individuals come through the NBA and one of the better-known superstars is none other than Kobe Bryant. For years people have wondered what makes Bryant so successful. The main contributors that lead to Kobe Bryant’s success is his hard work and dedication, his mindset, his natural ability’s and talent, and the people that have helped him throughout his life. Kobe Bryant was very successful in the NBA because of the amount of hard work he has put in, the people in his life, his relentless determination and his god given natural abilities.

In 2003, a sexual assault case was filed against Kobe, which would proceed to affect his image forever (“Bryant, Kobe” 4). Therefore, although he is an extremely talented athlete, Kobe Bryant is a negative influence to aspiring basketball players. Although this negative attention occurred during his NBA career, Bryant did, in fact, have many NBA achievements before this mishap. Firstly, at just 17 years old (“Kobe Bryant” 1), Kobe managed to become the second youngest player to enter the professional league in NBA history, being the 13th overall pick in the 1996 draft (“Bryant, Kobe” 1). In mid-1996, Kobe was traded to his current team, the NBA Lakers, where he would proceed to gain both his glory and his infamy (“Kobe Bryant” 1).

Others see those accomplishments as an embodiment of what you can accomplish in life with that same mentality. Sure, the odds of winning five titles and becoming an NBA superstar are low. However, when you carry that “Mamba Mentality”, you can accomplish great things. ...champion ever since he left the NBA. It might not be the NBA champion we all know, but it is a champion in the eyes of all those who he has supported.
