Loose gravel on the fire roads can cause a rider's front tire to wash out, this means the front tire loses all traction, and this leads to the bike being laid over on its side, and the rider will be sliding in the gravel. This can be prevented by not cornering fast on the fire roads. This can also happen if a rider encounters branches, roots or logs across the trail. If the rider doesn't hit the branch straight on, it can cause the front tire to lose all traction and wash out. Logs are a bit different.
