Filipinos are some of the most proud people of their own culture. You would have to look at the long history of Philippines to understand their pride. To understand where I am talking about, the Republic of the Philippines, or Philippines for short, is an archipelago of 7,104 islands in East Asia. It was named after King Philip II of Spain by Spanish conquistador Ferdinand Magellan. It is situated east of Vietnam between the South China Sea and the Philippine Sea and has a total land mass of 296,170 square kilometers.
The geography of the Philippines is very unique. Volcanic activity formed almost all of the islands in the Philippines. The Philippines is prone to volcanic and seismic activity because it is located on the Pacific Ring of Fire. Because of this, most of the land is mountainous and rugged. Even though the country has many active volcanoes, the last major eruption was in 1991 by Mount Pinatubo. The Philippines are covered by tropical rainforests on all of the archipelagos. The Philippines are also located close to the equator and has a tropical climate. This leads to being susceptible to typhoons. Typhoons are common in the warmer months in the Philippines. Typically, the northern regions of the Philippines are affected by the typhoons, but occasionally, Manila is devastated by typhoons. Manila is also the main economical center in the Philippines, as a result of being a port city.
It isn’t completely understood how prehistoric people originally arrived in the Philippines. It was assumed that people arrived in the Philippines 27,000 years ago by boat, but in 2007, there was a discovery of 67,000 year old human remains in Callao Cave. Researchers now believe that early human settlers could have walked to the Philippines...

Without a doubt, Filipinos are very proud of their culture. Their culture is a huge combination of native and Spanish influence. There are many tribes that live by indigenous customs.
