When our Founding Fathers came to the States over from England, one of main issues was that over in England, religion was forced upon the people and individual choices as to what to believe weren’t an option. When our countries Founding Fathers wrote the constitution, they were very careful about granting the freedom of separation of church and state. Many Americans feel that having prayer in school would indeed violate that part of our constitution. Many people argue that public schools are meant for educational purposes only, not for proselytizing. This is not especial provisions that can guarantee the religious... ... middle of paper ... ...without the recognition of and practical loyalty to other types of public freedoms particularly, freedom of association and speech would be meaningful. The mentioned freedoms should not be limited by any religion or ideology. The only reasonable limitation to public freedoms is other people’s rights and freedoms. The only place that government can stop people from exercising their religion is where a law is violated; a law which is passed enacted and applied by a secular government. To put it in a nutshell, religious freedoms have to be respected and protected.
Laws are for everyone, and it is the government’s responsibility to ensure that this remains the case. If power-hungry individuals are aware of the fact that they are entitled to ‘religious liberty’, and the freedom that comes with this, then this gives reason for certain people to create religions, and the beliefs or new traditions that come with that religion. If this were to happen, who is to stop them if the government has already stated that it is their right to engage in these so called ‘religious behaviors’? Wherever there is leniency, there are people looking to push the limits and break the rules... ... middle of paper ... ...r with people.
