We all live in a world where there are countless opportunities to travel and see what the earth has to offer. We are able to view the various sites where history was made, and continues to be made; even become more connected to evolution. Our world is filled with fields of beauty and mountains of wonder. If it were ever the case that you just wanted to “get away”, from drama or just needed a vacation, there’s a place for that. If you ever needed to find the perfect spot for a wedding, the earth provides that. If you ever had an idea of your “dream house” or “dream job”, the earth offers a location for that all to come true.
Earth, according to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, is the planet on which we live, but she is much more than that. She is our mother, our provider, our necessity to live, our home. The place where families are raised, people are educated, live, and feed off is in deep trouble.
Like there are viruses that harm our bodies, there are things that are harming and eventually will kill the Earth. Deforestation, pollution, uncontrolled use of infrastructure, wastefulness, soil erosion and degradation, these are all only a handful of viruses we are giving to the earth, but they all need to end immediately.
People, defined beautifully by the Merriam-Webster dictionary, is a group that are united by a common culture, tradition, or sense of kinship, that typically have common language, institutions, and beliefs, and that often constitute a politically organized group.
There are very few options we have to change our path of destruction, but there are people, and or groups that could easily help put an end to this madness. The figures we need to look for guidance from are religious figures, for without trying, the ea...

...of what we are doing and admit it is leading us to a no man’s land. Secondly this is an effort that needs to be done together. When I speak about us, I am not talking only to one group of people, this is a global effort.
In the words of Pope John Paul II “It is my hope that the inspiration of Saint Francis will help us to keep ever alive a sense of "fraternity" with all those good and beautiful things which Almighty God has created. And may he remind us of our serious obligation to respect and watch over them with care, in light of that greater and higher fraternity that exists within the human family.” No one wants to leave this earth and I know deep down inside everyone cares. Whether it is for selfish reasons like, you like your house, everyone needs to make an effort to reform our ways and help our bleeding mother. Heal her from the mighty pain we have caused.
