Literature review
Computerized therapy is the relationship initiated between a human being and a computer. In this case, the computer takes issues from a person just like in the case of a human. Human therapists are tasked with the role of listening to the emotions of people and finding a way of addressing them. Therapy operates on the basis of curing the human mind and soul of issues that cause depression and other bad conditions. This literature review will delve deeper into the question of computerized therapy and highlight various issues related to the concept. In this case, a review of the medical process will be undertaken (Kessler RC, Heeringa S, Lakoma MD, et al, 3). This will be instrumental for understanding therapy and the application in the case of a computer. It should be noted that computerized therapy was developed during the times of ELIZA. Eliza was a computer program developed in order to take the place of a human therapist. By the time this program was developed, many people depended on the program for curing emotional issues. The developer designed a program that could interact with human beings and address their issues just like a human being could do. This program was popular back in the 60s when it first designed. Many people used the computer program for sorting out their emotional issues. The program was effective just like a human therapist. Some patients were amazed later at how they shared their emotions with a computer (WHO, 1). This is because the computer was effective in addressing their emotional issues. This program was therefore used for the purpose of interacting with human beings by understanding their needs. The program worked and received a lot of acclamation.

The other aspect of computer based therapy is deep and revolutionary content that enhances the best therapy. It should be noted that the right kind of therapy ensures that patients not only recover from emotional break up but also understand their situation. This is the rationale of therapy. The patient should be healed and his or her situation understood fully. After this, the therapist has to develop a range of solutions aimed at treating the emotional distress.
Conclusion
The issues surrounding therapy has been reviewed and it is now clear from the discussion that curing emotional problems requires more than computers and people but understanding the brain. This is because brain is the main center where human emotions are invoked. As long as traditional and computer therapists stick to this rule, then the ideals of therapy would be attained with a doubt!
9). Based on the afore initiatives, the mental health professional must decide which therapy would be beneficial in treatment for the clients’ problems. Evaluations and reevaluations may be needed to be successful in treatment (Nurcombe, 2014,
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy appears to be a new treatment, although its roots can be traced to Albert Ellis’s Reason and Emotion in Psychotherapy, published in 1962. Cognitive therapy assumes that thoughts precede actions and false self-beliefs cause negative emotions. It is now known that most depression treatments have cognitive components to them, whether they are recognized or not. In the 1970’s many psychologists began using cognitive components to describe depression. From there, they developed cognitive forms to treat depression with impressive results (Franklin, 2003).

In today’s world, technology has become a medium of connections among people. Through the advanced technology people are able to communicate with each other. Social media and artificial intelligence are one of these technologies. People are able to use robot in place of human. Medical technology has grown a lot to cure the patient’s diseases. In “Who Holds the Clicker”, Lauren slater’s article, she wrestles with the question of how to define good medical technology. She explains a mental disorder, OCD and how medical technologies are handling it through neural implants. She took an example of Mario, a person who has OCD to show her point of view to readers. She describes Mario’s situation before the neural implantation and after the neural
It is suggested that the link between neuroscience and behavior is the revolutionary technology and that clinicians accustomed with the essentials of these disciplines will be better prepared to "integrate pharmacological, behavioral, and social work technologies into a comprehensive treatment plan" (Ellinwood,
We have not discussed categories of counseling yet, but our first couple of chapters dealt with three ways to look at the mind: psychodynamic, behavioral, and cognitive. While cinematherapy does not particularly apply to a cognitive approach, psychodynamic and behavioral do. Psychodynamic therapy focuses on the client discussing his or her problems with the therapist in hopes of surfacing repressed feelings—basically free association, which is something I will come back to. Behavioral therapy uses conditioning to replace problematic behavior with something more appropriate. A branch of behavioral therapy includes exposure therapy, which places the client in a fictional or nonfictional scenario that the client is disturbed by, ultimately treating his or her anxiety (Green, 2014). The definition is enough to see how cinematherapy relates. Because the therapist is exposing the client to a situation that is similar to their own—one that bothers him or her—it forces the client to face his or her fears. Coming to terms with what bothers the client and why it bothers him or her can help treat his or her anxiety in the end. This applies to me in that the idea of cinematherapy will help me to apply it to a cognitive approach of therapy. Since it is not a topic we have yet covered, it will help me in future lessons understand what it means. Additionally, the word cognitive is a broad term and one that is frequently used in psychology; when I think of cognitive, I will think of cinematherapy, and again, remember its definition. Like how cinematherapy will help me remember what cognitive therapy means, it will help me understand Sigmund Freud’s principles and his psychodynamic

They specifically found 17 factors which influenced effective treatment, including pacing, structure, coping skills, hypnotherapy, grounding processes, self-disclosed insight, client-centeredness, modeling, and identifying and assigning alter roles. For example, grounding processes which participants spoke about included being able to listen to meditation tapes recorded by the therapist or even calling the therapists voicemail simply to hear their voice. Hearing the voice would remind them of a sense of calm and security which is provided during therapy sessions. The techniques echo the above conclusions as well, but this study also emphasized the importance of a therapist being human. This would involve modeling appropriate emotions, such as enthusiasm; sharing enough so that the client would recognize the empathy of the therapist; and even showing sincere emotions when they are moved, including the therapist even tearing up. These helped build a positive and supportive -- but professional -- relationship, and is further improved when there are clear boundaries provided.
Psychotherapy has been Around for many years and has a major role in our world today. It has grown over the years and now there are known many hundreds of different theories about. Clients that use therapy are for different reasons as to cope with a change of life experience or a disorder or for personal development. Integrative psychotherapy has been around for over one hundred years but has really only come into the forefront of therapy since the late 1970’s. “Research has indicated that psycho¬therapy is moving toward an integrated approach to therapy” (Norcross, 2005b). The therapy is a mixture of all theories that are tailored by the therapist professional experience to work with the client in a positive way. This assignment will look at the factors needed to enable the therapist to carry out successful therapy. It will highlight and explain what the five principles of integrative therapy are. Also, with the common factors and how they are important and across all therapies. Also,
The literature frequently recommended group therapists pay closer attention to advancements in brain studies (Flores, 2010). Research highlighted the importance of learning and teaching clients basic ways that the brain functions, especially as it relates to our emotions (Flores, 2010). To first lay a foundation for neuroscience, literature maintains that the human brain is generally organized into three complex and interconnected layers: the brainstem, the limbic system, and the neocortex.
Cognitive therapy approaches of psychotherapy have proved to be one of the most effective psychological approaches for a wide range of behavioral problems. “CBT teaches anxiety reduction skills that people can use for the rest of their lives. Research shows the
The movement has moved across hardware, digital applications, and into what can be described as accessible and mobile implementations. The enhancements to practice are a matter of harnessing the strengths that the tools provide (Schoech, 2014). Within social work use of technology there are various means to utilize the innovations. According to Jaskyte (2012), technology can be used as an administrative or operational function, promoting a message of support and advocacy, or as a means of direct service delivery. This ultimately creates and allows organizational structure to flourish in an effective manner and be able to survive the vastly expanding technological world (Mano, 2009). The integration of innovative advancements ultimately lends themselves to being tools for change
It is important not to let technology interrupt what is important for mental health. Next time while at the dinner table put the phone down and communicate with family members. Try to limit time on the internet and simply do as many activities as possible without technology. Technology may help the world but is not beneficial when it comes to the people using it, technology is truly taking a turn for the
