The incident happened at my workplace, which affected and changed my identity as a professional. I was doing my diploma in children’s services when I started my job as certificate 3 in Doveton college early learning centre four years ago. I completed my diploma successfully. After some time, I decided to start studying Bachelors in early childhood education. I started feeling a change in the behaviour of one of the teachers in the centre. We have three rooms in the early learning centre. I was a part of the kinder room and she was a teacher in the babies’ room. She started with picking on me. It a form of self-assessment and an essential component of ongoing learning and professional growth. However, “for reflection to genuinely be a lens into the world of practice, it is important that the nature of reflection be identified in such a way as to offer ways of questioning taken-for-granted assumptions and encouraging one to see his or her practice through others’ eyes” (Loughran, 2009). The incident left me with no confidence till the end when I gathered all my strength and took a professional step against the workplace bullying. From being a very nervous colleague, I came up as a confident person, who was ready to fight for the justice. However, the biggest challenge to raise the issue was the teacher 's high position and expressive power. I overcome this challenge though my will power and growing knowledge and confidence as I kept completing my course and professional placements at other places. I regained my confidence with the very positive feedback about my professional role from the other staff at my workplace, families and my mentor teachers.
