As an emerging leader whose desire is to see progress in his/her organization change is inevitable and necessary. Although change is an important component of moving forward and growing a lot of people resist change, this resistance can be contributed to our fear of the unknown which is what change represent to many people. Hence, when it comes to implementing change it would be best to start off by recognizing and identify what needs to be change ad how to bring about that change. You can’t convince others to go on a journey if you are not aware where you are going. During this course, I have learned that no matter how simple or basic a change may appear to be it requires planning from of every aspect. Someone once said if you don’t prepare, be prepared to fail. I sometimes fail to see my capabilities and questioned myself as I seek to make changes. Another thing is that there are many naysayers around, people who will do their best to discourage you from pursuing your dreams. I can recall a fellow friend and co-worker once told me that it makes no use for me to get my bachelor because shortly the government won’t have money to pay us for our degree. Presently that very same friend is doing her bachelor degree. I have learned that just like a plant which does not grow will eventually die, it’s the same with humans. To never experience change is to never live. Changes are in every aspect of the universe. A person or institution that is stagnant will eventually fade away. Change is equivalent to success, it’s a necessary component of growing. Change is gradual so don’t expect to happen overnight and change can start with one person, you.
