Growing as a Writer Since English is my second language, my writing is growing slow. I took many ISL classes in Jefferson Community and Technical College to improve my English and writing. I took English 101, and 102. I leaned how to write MLA format essays. I learned how to in English (W 290) class. In this course I learned how to write APA format essays. During this class, I took this year I have not only grown as a student and a writer, but as a person as well. I feel that my experience of all these English courses I took, I grown my knowledge and became more confident. I realized that my writing skills in English courses extremely beneficial to me. I translated the writing essay to the visual essay. I used visual rhetoric when I watched a Big Cats video multiple times and I wrote an essay about it. In Big Cats essay, I summarized the video and discussed how the creator defined the rhetorical situation, I Supported my argument and the purpose of it. I explained why this genre is appropriate to the message and how affect it. I learned how I could apply ethos, pathos, and logos to my essay assignment. Also, in on line class we write about persuasive essay. In this class, I learned about rhetorical appeals and this first time heard about it. Now I know rhetorical appeals are parts of writing such as rhetorical appeals of pathos, ethos, and logos. The most difficult part when writing is collaboration the different parts of the writing and making them work. The meaning of ethos is credibility of the persuader. The speaker can make the message believe and be clear about the topic. Pathos is the way of persuasive the audience when use argument essay by creating an emotional response. In the essay the writer will understand the audience and knows what their beliefs are and what their needs or wants. Logos is facts and the way of persuading the audience by reason. We can use just the facts and we can use the quotes
