Have you ever thought about going back in time and do things differently? Go back and think about your last week, think about what you did and reflect on what you would have done differently. Probably you would have started your homework earlier in the week rather than doing it late Sunday night! Time is a precious thing to have, once a read a book by Mitch Albom and it said: “There is a reason why God limits our days on earth, to make each one of them special.” So what have you done to make your days more enjoyable, and most importantly, what have you done to manage your time to get the best out of each day? Personally, I do regret procrastinating and not using my time wisely. Think back at how you could have used all your spare time talking to your parents or doing homework. Break up your days and track how much time you spend for each little thing you do, all the way from eating, significant others, sleeping and time with your family. After watching the Jelly Bean video it made me change my mind on how to manage time. I never had any kind of issues when it comes to time management, however, after watching the breakup of how we use time, I figured out that there was really no time for myself. So do things differently. Before I used to leave things due to the last minute, now with the RA job there is really no way I can procrastinate because if I do I would be flooded with stuff to do! Being an RA takes a lot of time, you need to learn how to manage it so that you do not run late and therefore have a poorly performance as an RA. Now is casual to have my fridge´s door full of post-it notes with dates on them for future assignments. I figured out that I was spending a lot of time doing homework, which is great school wise, but I was lacking a little when it came to spending some time with my residents. I would see them in the hallways and talk to them for a while but I felt that I needed to do more than that. So do not be afraid of going back and check on yourself because most of the time you would notice that you might be able to do things better. When it comes to personal life I think that I was not dedicating enough time to my family. I come from a Latin American Background where our family is everything, that was just the way I grew up and I am proud of it. I was not calling them enough because of my job or because I was overwhelmed by next day due homework. So always go back and see what you could have done better and do something about
