Respect “Respect”, respect was always a big thing in my city, respect for those who were better, stronger, for those who you feared. In my case Cass the Broken was who I feared, he was bigger, stronger and sometimes even smarter. But I had one thing he didn’t, humility. Humility from getting beaten in a fight when my enemy towered over me victorious and from that came fear of losing again and from that fear came anger. That anger drove me to where I am now and will fuel me to my victory, but now let me tell you the story of how I got back to the top to defeat my enemy. Off of that uppercut he grabbed my arm that I used to attempt to uppercut him with and pulled toward himself and landed a punch right between my eyes knocking me to the ground then he needs me in the back and held me in that position for a long enough time that the refery sounded that the round was his. My crew member got a stool for me to sit on and told that I had to play it smart and to let him make to first move and that's what I was going to do. In the second round I let Jacob make the first move just as my crew member instructed. He threw a right hook that I jumped back from then counter attacked with a jab to his stomach and before he could hit back I slugged him in the face making him fall back and as quickly as I stepped forward to pin him he was back up on his feet so I pulled an uppercut again but before it made contact he kicked me in my shin. A streak of pain came from my leg, that was an illegal move and he new it and lucky for him the umpire didn’t see it. Now I was angry again but I was still going to play it smart so instead of what he expected twisted my body in a certain way that all my power was built into my leg and propelled my leg upward. Before he realized what was happening my leg struck his face and he crumpled to the ground. The fight was over
For example, No Moccasins loved and respected her husband, so she went to find him and saved his life (Marshall 5). Three Horns respected her bravery and made sure that the tribe knew of her courageous actions (Marshall 3). Also, the mailman that became stranded in the middle of a blizzard when his car slipped into a gully. Despite him staring death in the face the mailman stayed put, and he stayed put because he respected his neighbors and knew they would come looking for him (Marshall 140). In the story of Brings the Deer, Sees the Bear recognizes and respects the struggle of the coyote, the wolf, the fox, and the hawk who asked for his help in their time of need (Marshall 184-188). Without that respect Sees the Bear would have never given up his meat. Furthermore in the Story of the Snake, the hunter’s respected the word of the giant snake and the task it had given them, so they tracked down the man with the scar under his eye (Marshall 59). And in the same story the man with the scar under his eye respected his village and took the shame and punishment of banishment on his own shoulders so his village did not devolve into insanity (Marshall 66). These stories all have respect interwoven into their respective lessons, and they cannot be properly taught without a good understanding of
Did I just do that? Did I just stop juror three? I can’t believe it; how did I have the nerve to do that? oh no he is going to hit me I’m sure of it. However I really liked it when I stopped him and taking charge, like I didn't know what i was doing. I rose up to the occasion and and just did it. So this is what bravery feels like I kind of liked it but I don’t think I will experiencing that feeling again any time soon. But sweet mother of jesus!! Look at his face juror three is so pissed like his face is as red as a tomato I hope he will calm down or something might happen like; I actually thought he was about to attack juror eight he was shouting and yelling at him. Good thing I wasn’t the one that started the fight with him or I would have been knocked out faster than anything.

R-e-s-p-e-c-t, take care TCB.” The notorious, veracious lyrics of Aretha Franklin’s song “Respect” probably ring in everyone’s ears as soon as they hear the word respect. Through the power of music, Aretha Franklin recognized the importance of instilling necessary words into everyone’s head. Hopefully everyone understood the lyrics well enough so the words pop into their head at the most essential times. It’s important for everyone to be respectful to everyone, including being respectful to oneself. That means holding aplomb, being truthful, and holding a healthy sense of self-worth. In addition, respect teaches a person to stay out of trouble because they value others thoughts and considerations as highly as their own. Respect controls a person’s temper. Respect builds up a society to become a better place. It relates to a person’s values and actions. The five reasons stated are just a few of the several reasons why everyone should exhibit respect.
Respect is something you earn by being a good person or doing something admirable. All of the citizens of Maycomb look up to Atticus and see him as a respectable person. Atticus is the character in the novel that has the most respect. He is a caring, loving father, the only member of Maycomb who will actually defend a negro, and he always displays respect for other people.
The moment that stuck out to me for respect was when Rick sat with Q and listened to this problems, the old Rick never would have taken the time to listen to Q’s problems. I can use this skill in my life by showing respect to others in order to receive that same respect. A way to work towards this is by giving people the space that they need.
As a second language learner I have never expected myself to be a perfect writer throughout the semester. Even If English was my first language still, I would not be a perfect writer. It is not about first or second language, it is about how well I understand the learning objectives. Then organizing and writing with my own ideas and putting them in my paper. I am going to be honest, I am not good at English subject and English subject is my strongest weakness than the other subjects. In this paper I will discuss and analyze my own writing, reflecting on the ways that my writing has improved throughout the semester.
“Go take Auggie away from here while Amos, Miles and I finish these morons,” I quietly told Henry. He obeyed and dragged Auggie away from the battle that had erupted. I did not want Auggie to hear me and think I mistaken him for a weakling. I honestly did not, I just wanted him somewhere safe where he would not get hurt. I turned back to see Amos fighting Eddie and Miles dueling one of his friends. I lunged toward another boy who hit me.
I walked away from that fight, or whatever you want to call it, with a few cuts and bruises, and a lot of pain, but nothing I couldn't deal with, physically. Mentally, however, they hurt me pretty bad. Every time I see the small scar on my wrist, or hear someone say that word, I cringe and feel like I'm getting beaten all over again.
PSYC321-Social Psychology taught me about the ways in which people are influenced by others, how people make decisions, inferences we make about others’ attitudes and personalities, and influence of situational and variables on behavior. I learned that people behave the way that they do for so many reasons. Behaviors are caused more by the social situation than they are by the characteristics of the individuals. One of the concepts that I recall is Lewin’s equation which indicates that the behavior of a person at any given time depends on both the characteristics of the person and the influence of the social situation. Society has shaped the thoughts and minds of many individuals and because of this personal beliefs towards LGBT people came into play. Society was constantly telling people that there was something wrong with them if they were LGBT and that they would go to hell for it because God did not approve of it and it was a sin. I would like to say that because society was judging people and denying them, that they were committing a sin. It is not their place to decide the fate of certain people, the only person that can make those decisions is God. God is the one that decides whether we are deemed worthy to go to Heaven or not. With that being said, I grew up in a family that is very religious on one side and the other side had their person beliefs
Social Justice to me means that everyone has the same opportunity to experience life in such a way that they can have all their needs met and feel fulfilled as people. This may sound really simple, but it is actually a very complex idea that I am going to try to break apart and try to explain here. The first part is everynone. When I say everyone, I mean every person in existence. Whether they are a citizen of the United States, a refugee from Syria, or an astronaut, no longer in the atmosphere. In essence, everyone counts. Second is opportunity. Opportunity is the set of circumstances that make an outcome available and the ability to capitalize on those circumstances. Third is experiencing life. This refers to the ability to move through their life from beginning to end with the freedom and agency to make educated choices about things that affect them. The final part is having needs met and feeling fulfilled. This is probably the most difficult one to explain effectively. To illustrate this idea I look to Abraham Maslow and his hierarchy of needs. Prior to the relationship building assignments, I had never written a professional thank you note to a professor or place of business. I had a pen pal throughout middle school and also wrote notes to teachers that I had built a relationship with in high school, but neither were to the same degree of professionalism as I learned to utilize in this course. My notes mainly focused on updates of how I was, how my family was, and maybe a few questions to cap off the note.
“I met someone who can help you get an English 10 class.” Those were the words that echoed through my mind after the last day of enlistment. It was because of this person, whom my mother met, that I was able to enrol in this class. It was actually better than taking Fil 40, mainly because I have actually struggled with Tagalog in the past. What did change that language difficulty was the fact that I would have to write papers. The first week of class started well with a diagnostic essay which I was able write and get neutral feedback. But soon I realized that the diagnostic essay was nothing compared to what I had to go through in order to produce the best papers I could write for the class; this was because writing any academic paper is no joke to be taken lightly.
All welcoming, all loving, all knowing God, for me my Church is like a an close up of heaven will look . All colors, all ages, all backgrounds invited, souls are saved weekly. Faith is increased every Sunday and the Bible is even reflected on heavier Wednesday. Word Church is more then just a big grey, white, and red building, on the corner of Britain Road, with a big W symbol on the side. My church is a hospital, in the middle of a slowly dieng area. Previously dispositioned as an old furniture store, I am currently a member of, the newly remodeled Word church Akron. This was not my first church I attended, however it is the building block of my faith in Christianity . During the foundation of my childhood, I had my first experience with religion, at catholic and Pentecostal churches
When I contemplate human nature, I believe people know life is finite and while animals live to survive, humans live to try be remembered. People yearn to persist, this explains society’s obsession with immortality, vampires, zombies, and the longing to be reminisced. Collectively, I think many humans dread loneliness, society equates isolation with emptiness and as a substitute they engage in a surplus of consumerism to feel comfort. People relentlessly upload pictures to feel reassured by others. People desire authentic connection and due to technology and social media, I conclude that many people fail to create meaningful relationships. There is a subtle hollowness that many oppose, yet never resolve.
