Reflection Paper On Music

As I complete my eighth week of HUMI 1, the one topic that apprehended my attention was “Playing”. The moment the topic was mentioned, I instantly knew that I could both relate and understand the concept better than anything else. From what I was able to analyze, it was very easy to understand and clear that the best results do not always result in the use of logic, but by playing around with an idea. By playing around with an idea, we are able to expand our creativity and give us an idea that will help us accomplish whatever it is that we are trying to achieve. Slowly, I grew to play music of other genres and eventually did piano covers of songs that I enjoyed. Being able to step outside of my comfort zone, I played the piano to my full potential. Knowing that I have the capability to play the piano well, I decided to test out my experiment based on the topic of “Playing”. I have not played the piano for quite some time, so I started off by playing music that I already knew to get back into the feel. Once I was able to comfortably play, I attempted to make my own song. It was a difficult process, but by playing random notes on the piano and not being so serious, I was able to strengthen my creativity with the piano and giving my ideas of what I could do in order to make a song. I was testing different tempos and notes to see what went well with one another. After hours of constantly playing around on the piano, I was able to eventually start off an interesting sounding tune on the piano that soon became the intro to my song. Once I was able to make an intro, the rest followed smoothly. Every note that was used in the song was made from me playing around on the piano. Anything that followed up well was included into the
