One of my core beliefs about ultimate reality/God is that everything happens for a reason. Whether something occurred at the wrong or right time, it happens for a reason. I believe in this because of my own life experiences and I am thankful that certain things happened even though it may have been hard to grasp. During my middle and early high school years I had the same group of friends. As we grew up each of us started going through different situations but we always remained friends and spent time together. Once we reached our junior year we slowly started losing our friendships due to me being put into a senior class. Then our senior year came and I had plans and goals to reach. I no longer want to participate in activities that we use …show more content…
Just because he put something in your life, it does not mean that it is meant to stay forever. Sometimes some people are meant to stay for a short amount of time such as a season or a few months, or even a few years. You will come across a few people that are meant to stay but they are really hard to …show more content…
Life is truly filled with a lot of surprises, but I think that can be one of the best parts. Each situation that has happened in my life that made me changed were all a surprise. Looking back, I realize those surprises was a great thing and each one happened at a perfect time in my opinion. I believe that happened at a perfect time because at the time, I was focusing on trying to help a lot of people and I was not doing everything I felt I should have been doing for myself. Once people were removed, I was able to focus more on improving myself and setting more goals for myself to accomplish. I would say being an accepted and attending Mount St Joseph was a blessing. I actually did not find out about Mount St Joseph until my senior year. I was looking to attend another college, but I knew the Mount was the place for me once I had my first campus visit. I felt like I was at home and that I will be able to accomplish my goals and plans that I set for my career. The Mount was the best decision for me and it really came out of the
Before my years in high school, I rarely put time and effort into studying and constantly associated with my friends at school; that is until I entered high school. The different competitive atmosphere at high school caused me to suddenly prioritize my studies ahead of everything else and my ambition became greater than ever. I began to interact less with my old friends and become less sociable with those around me. My parents also began to notice this drastic change and encouraged me to once in a while contact my old friends. During the beginning, I contacted my friends about two or three times a week, but the phone calls began to gradually diminish. I began to abandon my previous cheerful, ebullient nature in order to conform to the competitive, tense study environment at high school. As long as I successfully accomplished my goals and was accepted by others, I was willing to alter myself in order to assimilate into the mainstream environment. Through my hard work and perseverance, I was able to reach my goal and receive the acknowledgement of others; however, despite fulfilling all my ambitions, I did not feel any joy or satisfaction within myself. Even though I successfully accomplished my objectives in school, I realized that in return I completely sacrificed my social life. Despite being accepted by others, I began to feel a sense of loneliness and longed to
At the beginning of the year the people I was hanging out with are amazing people, but they didn't make me feel welcome at the table. So in the first month of school, I had already switched tables. The friends that I migrated to are good people, who make terrible decisions. They made me feel pressured to hate certain people and act a certain way. I didn't realized how much this had affected my life until recently. Those friends made me feel like I had to have something wrong with me to be different, or fit in with them. When I finally realized what they were doing to me, I left. I moved to another table, these people are the best people ever. They reminded me that I don't have to have something wrong with me to be their friend. This point in my life was just a few weeks ago, and I already feel better than I have in a long time.
Are you someone who believes that everything happens for a reason? While some things happen that do not affect any part of my life, I believe that everything happens for a reason no matter what it is. Everything I do in life has a consequence to it whether it be big or little. If nothing had a reason for happening, what would our purpose of living be.
Hanging with friends were always different because I only saw them on the weekends, but as a senior, I’m almost with tthem 24/7. Giving up these things were significant because working at a job, school work, and sports were always hard to balance around. But I guess it me a better person and more humble (Cliche). “He was fine during the ascent , but as soon as he started down he lost it mentally and physically. He turned into a real zombie, like he’d used up everything.” (Krakauer 254). This quote stood out to me because with all the “responsibilities” I had were all just so tiring and made me feel like
Such experiences include “children, marriage, aging, death, birth, college” (West & Turner, 2016). With the lessons learned with friendships earned and lost over the duration of childhood, there may be some hesitancy on having a person becoming a potential friend in the future. People take things slow, take more time to know the person to determine if this will be either a meaningful friendship that would benefit both people or if it will be just a type of friendship which is just acquaintances and nothing more. There will be at times when that relationship will seem to wane or known as “Waning friendship…friendship intimacy bonds begin to decay; friends spend less and less time together” (West & Turner, 2016). This can happen for a number of reasons such as growing apart, different points of life for two individuals, and loss of interest. As adults, we have essentially categorized ourselves into business professional, student, relaxed, church, etc. Sometimes certain connections to certain circles don’t overlap with others because of the vast differences between them. It is perfectly normal to have casual friendships that don’t require constant meet-ups while other friendships are much closer and intimate because of a familiar
In conclusion, there is always some kind of outcome of things that you do. No matter what happened to where you were going in life, something good can eventually be made out of it. You may have a lot of changes throughout your life that influence the way that you want to remember your memories. If you were to write something to someone when they feel one way about you and they are constantly reminded of your love for someone can make a change in your feelings for one another. Sometimes you fail to understand what is really happening in your life and you need to unclutter all your problems.
When it comes to religious beliefs, people have opinions that can be very conservative, to people who have extremist opinions. It is nearly impossible to say whose opinions are correct, but one thing that can be found in their opinions is a middle ground. From religion to religion, people tend to have some degree of similarities in their beliefs or practices. I saw something parallel to this during my interviews. I interviewed four very different people, from different generations, and different religions, yet I found similarities within many of their answers.
A worldview is the cumulative system of views, principles, and representations of a person which determines the motives for his or her behavior. The synonyms of the worldview can be such concepts as the general picture of the world or simply the outlook. This term does not name the sum of all views and representations, but rather their ultimate generalization. A worldview is inherent in a person at all stages of her life, and its formation is a continuous and incessant process. The child’s worldview is extremely simple due to lack of experience and necessary knowledge. The adult’s worldview is more conscious, as it relies more and more on rational and conscious beliefs. However, the worldview is the result not only of a personal experience
My personal worldview explains the way I view and live life through the assumptions and beliefs I hold in response to the world around me. I believe I was created for a specific reason and purpose.
Islam is often viewed as a religious tradition which originates from the seventh century. An important part of Islam is based on the prophet Muhammad, and the great revelations in which he received from God, according to the Quran. However, it is most important to realize that Muslims do not view Islam as a new religion. Muslims believe that Allah is the same God who revealed himself to Abraham, Moses, and Jesus. Therefore, Jews, Christians, and Muslims are all followers of the same living God. Muslims believe that the Quran is the final and complete revelation of God to all people. It is not easy for some people to accept the fact that God exists when there have been so many throughout history. You cannot also say if someone’s religion is right or wrong or the God they believe in is a “Supreme” god. Why Islam and not Christianity? Why Hinduism and not Judaism? Every one of them different and they vary from one another; they have different rules and are all passionate about their belief. But the fact still remains that there is one who is above all and he is God. God is Omnipresent, omnipotent, and Benevolent.
My entire life my sister and I have had different beliefs in regards to religion. Growing up, we were raised as Catholics. Now, she follows the faith of Christianity, while I consider myself an atheist. Throughout the years, we have had major discussions on the topic of religion.
During class 8, I learned about the importance of truthfulness where we have to make our working environment as comfortable as possible so our teammates are able to say about what they think freely and safely. But in reality, creating an environment which could uphold truthfulness is not easy. Al stated that there are many circumstances that make an individual to not telling the truth such as afraid to hurt other teammates and etc. So in class, we do a little exercise in which we all have to close our eyes and think about our product or task team and held a discussion about what our thoughts to our task team.
We are all guided by the things that happen to us and what we think about them. If one were to think that everything happens for a reason, or if they thought everything is mere chance, this could influence the way they see it and in what
Growing up I was raised in a religious household, so, of course, I’m a big believer in God and my faith. To me, God is the creator of all and I believe Judgment Day is going to come very soon. The definition of faith is the belief in God or in the doctrines or teachings of religion. My faith and the reason for my faith goes hand in hand because it makes me know the truth and opens my eyes to this world. Also, I get clarity of why I’m in this world which is to make it a better place. But seeing the world as faith with reason or reason with faith has a few challenges and can make things a little bit difficult. Same goes for science and religion which butt heads a lot. Some may feel that the Big Bang Theory created
I imagine there are billions of stars and constellations that are constantly shifting, changing and expanding infinitely to create every single existing thing on earth and everything all of us have ever known. But I can also imagine God waving his hands like a magician and all the elements forming to create the earth, the universe, and all the people that will ever exist. We also could have just as easily poofed into existence for a reason, fates intertwining and planning to cause our creation at the precise moment we are needed. But what does it mean then, what can it all mean? The questions surrounding existentialism are answered in the world around us through personal experiences, advice from past thinkers and perception.
