Some people have a talent for writing and can just write an amazing five page essay with ease, but I am not one of those people. I have always liked writing, but the quality of the writings were not always the best. I knew what I wanted to write, but when I would try to I would cram so much information into my writings that my readers would get lost and not understand what the essay would even be about. That all changed, though last year. My junior year was when my writing changed tremendously. The teacher was one of the best teachers I have ever had and I am lucky to have her this year as my Psychology teacher. She is the major reason why my writing has improved. There were different things she taught me, like how to slow down, declutter my essays, improve my sentences, and to not stress out over an assignment. The first paper I wrote for her was a research paper and it was about “If exercise can help people with depression.” Once again, I tried to cram so much information that she got lost and could not figure out what the main idea of the paper was. She liked what my paper was about, but she did not like the way that I wrote it. The teacher would give us a week to work on an essay and the first day I would say to myself, “Oh, I have a whole week to work on that, I do not need to start now, I got plenty of time.” But after saying that for five days, time catches up with you. I was the master of procrastination, but I learned that procrastination does not work and it will really drive a person crazy .Last year I decided that I was not going to do that anymore, if I could help it. Let us just say that helped a lot with my writing, because I was not just throwing stuff together. If I planned ahead of time I could think about my topic, what I was writing, and how I was writing. I decided that was a better way of writing then
