Could you imagine Writing was not my favorite subject? Back when I lived in Afghanistan, writing was not as interesting for me as now. I always think, the rules that were though to us about writing was only to focuses on grammatical mistakes and write as much as you can. Mean that, our essay were marked by how many pages can we write, and how many grammar mistakes we will have. Essentially, writing was all about learning to pass a class and how to solve work problems, not because to become a writer. For instant, the topic prompts that were assigned were job related. Like “A Latter to ministry of justice” “A to Ministry of Finance.” But here in the United States, I leaned more rules, which kind of helped me ease into writing. Such as, write …show more content…

However, I am introverted personality type and I proffers to write my feelings rather than sharing it with others, but with all these rules it gets to be frustrating. Back when I lived in Afghanistan, I didn’t knew most of the writing rules such as, organization of an article or an essay and how to hookup one sentence with other, which was very depressing. Although I liked to write short stories of my life but when I was starting to write, I could not put on sentences together, as well as the organization of my essay was not perfect either. For instance, my first story that I was whiling to writing was about me as a refuges of Afghanistan. In this story I wanted to write my experience about how we escaped for Afghanistan to Pakistan. Since I didn’t knew how to organize my sentences together, I stopped writing And in school, they were not teaching how to organize our essay, all they were teaching was how to write a latter. In fact, when I came to United State the writing rules were totally different and I think, that writing is not that hard as they made it here. Here are some rules that I have been taught. An essay has to be five paragraphs, you need introduction at first, it have to have three body paragraphs, don’t use same word always and an essay have to contain conclusion. Author and Professor Shelley Reid explains three principle or writing: “write about what you know about, are curious about.” This quote describes the main reason of my writing. Whenever I feel sad about something or someone hearts my feelings, I like to write about it. For instance, I wrote a short story on the death of my older brother which accord in a car accident, even though I have not seen him, but still I see him in my eyes. Although the story is based on unseen relationship but still if you read it, you will believe that it is a real story. On the other hand, I like to write about happy times of my life too. For example, I wrote a brief story of my coming to United State. This story starts from the day that I was leaving my country. The story includes all the details of my trip to United State. Not to mention that, that back then I was not a good writer, but still I was writing it. When I started learning more rules and how to hook one sentence to other sentence. That’s when I started rewriting my short stories and make sure that the reader can understand what I am trying to say. Because writing is all about having a clear main idea (thesis) so the reader can understand what the story is
