It’s a little frightened and intimidating the fact that I have to decide on what I plan on achieving and succeeding in my life. I pretty that I am aware that College is my next step into my life journey, but choosing “the one that fits” is more complicated than I assumed. As my three top realistic schools are Georgetown University, Syracuse University, and St. Mary’s University. My essay is in a chronological order as in what’s a little more of a dream and far fetch to what my realistic school would likely be.
I was admire by Georgetown’s prestige campus life when I visit it in summer of 2014. The welcoming aroma was just overwhelming in a good way. I was first attracted to the location. Location is a major key for me because I felt like locations
I recently came across this university while I was trying to see which college would accept my ‘okay’ scores. I began to ponder, so my mom and I did a virtual tour of the campus and it was beautiful and modern unlike Georgetown. I really like the old ancient appearances but this university is update with their technology which I absolutely need. I had a Skype conversation with an academic advisor over there and she was over my major or department I was interested in. She explained how the courses revolve with the specific interest I am interested in such as non-profit organizations and sociology. It’s even possible for me to minor in social work which is great. Also, they have summer internships in Madrid, Florence, France, Chile, and other countries. I think the downfall besides the financially would have to be weather. I really adore the sun and I like winter apparel but I’m not sure if I would be able to cooperate with the heavy snow and winter they will receive every year. Also, being New York, the diversity there-culturally- is abundant and that really important to me. I hope to do a college visit if they accept to see if this is the school for me. Also, I prefer small school size but even though it’s a fairly large school, the student teacher ratio is 16:1 which not that is for specific courses-not generals. They do accept AP credit only with a score of a four or five so
Each campus provides academic opportunities and social ones as well. They all will allow me to choose my courses by what I am interested in. I think that one of these University will be my home just like ESSM was for me. Whatever I choose, I know God put me there for a reason. They will help me reach my goal to help people nationally and
My first two weeks on campus were great. When I first walked on to the campus, it felt very foreign like I was in another country. I didn’t feel connected yet and still felt like a visitor. Most of the time I didn’t know exactly where I was going and of course, I didn’t want to look like a freshman. Eventually, I did find where I was going, after going to Cajun connection.
The schools are great, and one of the many factors that people relocating to the area can take advantage
Rutgers is a vibrant community accompanied by so much diversity; with the people, academics, and society. Despite the fact that Rutgers University; whether it's the New Brunswick, the Newark or the Camden campus seems to have a lot of offer, I believe that I have just as much to present
It is located in Chicago, Illinois. The required ACT score is between 31 and a 34 composite score. There is no GPA requirement, but you have to be in the top 10% of your class. Only about 9% of all applicants get accepted. There’s about 15,048 people. Totally roughly $58,893 a year. The University does offer financial aid to students . The University of Chicago offers division one sports. They offer two sports that i found interesting, Women’s tennis and track and field. The atmosphere of the school is both scholarly and challenging. The University of Chicago compares well to my ideal college.
Over the past year I have grown as both a person and a writer. My writing has improved
Graduating High school is a milestone for many, it’s a step into the world full of opportunities and the next step to pursuing higher education. Many students begin the process of figuring out what college they would like to attend prior to even graduating, this is something that is instilled in students all throughout their years of schooling. Most high school students know what college they want to in their junior year of high school, while others conduct extensive research. Students want to attend a school that they can call their second home, especially because some students move away from home to pursue further education. Although Mark Edmundson has noted that higher education caters to consumerist tendencies of students, he has overlooked
As a senior in the college decision process, all facets of each considered college need to be analyzed closely in order to put myself in the best position for the next four years as well as the rest of my life. Clemson University and the University of Virginia (UVA) are two colleges that would provide me with not only a great degree but also the student life and social scene that tailors to my personality. College is the next chapter in my life that can define how successful I will be in my future. These two colleges provide me with a great chance to succeed academically as well as a chance to succeed socially. Although making the grades is important and sets the foundation of what type of job you can get, sometimes it isn’t what you know it’s who you know. Each school will provide me this chance to succeed. When
I would like to attend UTK because I heard that it is a great school. The student –faculty ratio is 17:1, and the school has 27.9 percent of its classes with fewer than 20 students. Most of their classes are 20-49 students, that’s the perfect size for me. The Vol Nation really cares about the success of their students and the quality of their education. They offer classes all day at any time and they also have summer courses. That’s a good thing because I’m an early riser and I could take my classes earlier in the day and have time to get all my work done. Since they offer classes during the summer I could take more
What jumps to my mind the most about Macalester College is the Mission Statement. Coming from Gaza Strip and traveling to the US as an exchange student for one year made me highly interested in cultures and diversity. Mac is greatly centered around multiculturalism and internationalism, which is exactly what I'm looking for. During my exchange year, beside growing up as a person, I have made so many friends from all over the world and I have learned so much about their cultures. Mac has such a diverse student body and with all the organizations and clubs that connect these students together, it becomes a better place for me to continue my path of learning about these cultures and make more friends. Not forgetting the strong academics that Mac offers, which will qualify me to be an erudite person to make a change in the world.
As a second language learner I have never expected myself to be a perfect writer throughout the semester. Even If English was my first language still, I would not be a perfect writer. It is not about first or second language, it is about how well I understand the learning objectives. Then organizing and writing with my own ideas and putting them in my paper. I am going to be honest, I am not good at English subject and English subject is my strongest weakness than the other subjects. In this paper I will discuss and analyze my own writing, reflecting on the ways that my writing has improved throughout the semester.
My first year in college has been a rewarding experience. As I look back on my Why College, Why Now essay, I realize that I have gained a tremendous amount of knowledge about myself. I am proud that I accomplished my goals I made in my first year of college and I exceeded my expectations. I still have the same goal for the future, but I added more goals for the future. I am attending Wilmington University because I want to make my future brighter. Attending college and earning a degree in communication media will help me obtain an exciting job as a professional journalist.
The University of Chicago has been one of my top choices for my post-secondary education for the past few years. I’ve spent a lot of time in high school deciding on what I wanted to do with my life, as I’m sure most high schoolers do, and one recurring thought I had was wanting to spend my college years in the city I fell in love with the moment I planted my feet on the ground there.
...es at your university make its graduation program ideally suited to my professional goals. Your University provides a dynamic atmosphere, which will shape me to be a thinker and a learner. The flexibility of the curriculum will provide the broad-based education that I need to widen the scope of my knowledge and skills.
When moving through the hallways, the teachers, aides and staff were all very friendly and helpful, making sure that I not only belonged to be there, but that I was able to find my way to the appropriate locations. Art lined the halls, and the sounds from the classrooms indicated that the children were exicited and engaged in their activies. I would feel most comfortable having children attend this school. It was a warm, safe and nurturing environment, where the individual was celebrated, and the community created.
College is going to start my own life on a foot that is ready to leap because my career is going to take off right out of the gate. All-in-all I’m going to college for three main reasons. My immediate family is a reason because I want them to be proud of me for doing something right for once. My future family is also one because it’s a big part of my life that I want to be happy and always feel comfortable. Finally for my personal financial well-being, so I can be able to treat myself to all the luxuries I want for myself. Going back to line one, all of these things are a part of my future. Isn’t that what college is for after all, to prepare people for their own futures and what they bring? A university is not my future, it’s only the beginning of it.
