1.0 Introduction In this report I will be reflecting account of the year in which I will introduce to three patches done through the year as well as one chosen lecture. The first task was a group work introducing to globalisation and sustainability. Our group decided to study two happy places of work, our chosen businesses was BMW and Lush. As pointed in feedback stood as not obvious choices like Google or Amazon. Our task was to select one and state reasons behind. After a great research on both companies was clear to us that both are very good places to work nonetheless Lush as a small company win. Managers have to show healthy leadership which means spelling out rules and regulations and treat staff accordingly as well as reward them fairly and only for good jobs, by doing so they feel valued and recognised. As an alternative of punishment for bad job manager should talk to his staff, explaining and teaching them the correct procedure. Overall make them feel like a valued member of society. Leaders are actively on targeting goals and objectives for the people who work for them. In management, many goals are established by staffs and carried out by the managers themselves. Leaders will act to develop in more creative ways solve the problems; keep on going and with new missions. Managers will continue to do whatever is necessary work to accomplish the tasks and usually to get the job done without taking on too much risk or moving forward. The leader's instinct is to take risks instead and to challenge that task holding back by people and think of new ideas within an organization. Leaders more concerned on relationship between staffs, they promote the good staff, help them to develop, and move forward. Managers assign people, focus on personnel issues; and focus on how the job task get done, how they solve it, and how are they finished. (Rashid A., A., 2007).
In a firm, management and leadership are important and needed. Leadership and management are similar. Actually, leadership and management are totally different. The leadership would influence the firm. The leader would have difference leadership styles to lead the subordinate.
I am currently in a leadership position but have often wondered want makes a good leader. From the course I have identified that EQ, IQ, and SQ are the fundamental qualities that make a good leader. I will try and be aware of the needs and emotions of my team and use this to build my team. As a young principal, I wish someone had sat me down, unscrewed the top of my hard head, and poured some common sense into my empty skull. I would have been a better leader if they had. However, I had to learn about leading through trial and error with, unfortunately, more error than I would like to admit. I now realize what many of my colleagues and staff could have told me years ago if I had been inclined to listen – I blew it as often as I got it right. Looking back at those early years, I am thankful to those who mentored me and supported me even when I could have done it better. They helped me realize that leadership is not something you just do; leadership is a journey, and learning from your mistakes is as much a part of leadership as getting it right – maybe even more so.
The workplace is a very sensitive place, especially in businesses. The workers need to be motivated by their bosses to do work properly. Otherwise, they get demoralized. The managers should not be harsh in correcting mistakes since mistakes are bound to happen in any scenario. The manager should have a democratic way of communicating with the employees, this way they become free and the job environment becomes conducive. It is evident in job-friendly environments that jobs are well done and profits increase.
Leadership is not defined by position. Leadership is an extraordinary responsibility given only to those willing to exude selflessness, decisiveness, and wisdom. CSM William R. Hambrick, Jr is an accomplished leader that embodies the values, attributes, and competencies that I aspire to convey to my subordinates. The impact that CSM Hambrick has had on my career and leadership philosophy is immeasurable. His far-reaching legacy is one of confidence, sound judgment, and empathy.
It is necessary for these managers to assure that their employees know what is expected of them. They also need to effectively communicate the company goals and strategies in addition to frequently giving feedback to their employees. Managers also need to have the confidence in their employees to allow them autonomy in their work roles.
As a nurse, learning to adapt on various situations and applying appropriate leadership styles in different circumstances is a very essential skill to learn in health care practice. A strong personality should be shown so that the role can be maintained. With my experience, I have met different people with various personalities. Some will have challenging personalities which can be a hindrance in implementing the management plan however, showing the staffs the you have the courage, confidence, knowledge and skills to perform a task can greatly influence them to achieve a common goal. From my experience, I have learned that to be an effective and a good leader; you must also be a good follower and a good role model to the other team members. If the manager or leader is complying strictly with the rules and policies, there is a higher chance that the staffs will also follow the rules and policies based from my experience. Moreover, gathering positive and constructive feedbacks from my mentor helped me to further understand the importance of leadership and management
There are certain guidelines and standards that each employee should be aware of, and expected to follow. This is what is normally used to measure a person’s job performance. When not living up to these qualifications, an employee may a gentle reminder of his failure to comply. If held accountable for unacceptable behaviors, it will often turn this performance around. If not, after a certain amount of warnings, it becomes obvious that this person does not take his job very seriously, and therefore may be dismissed.
Leadership is found not just at work but all around us. In any situation, leaders take a step forward and take charge of the situation. It can be at home, at work or at any other place. Leaders are never born, they become leaders because they have the credibility and people would love to follow them.

For the purpose of this question, a great leader is someone who inspired you to show up every morning and do your best possible work, someone who made you believe in yourself, someone who genuinely cared about your success, and someone whom you wanted to follow willingly.”
Management is not just about making decisions, watching over employees, and bossing others around. Good management results in satisfied customers, who provide better customer service. In order for new managers to be successful, they need to have good communication, human skills, and the ability to motivate others. The ability to do these skills effectively makes a big difference to a manager and the company’s overall success. Companies depend on managers to fulfill their skills and knowledge to help their company excel.
After understanding the theory behind both the trait and skill approach, I was eager to evaluate and reflect on my own leadership traits. It was interesting to see how the trait approach allowed me to better understand whether or not I have certain traits considered to be important for leadership, while skills approach allowed me to evaluate my strengths and weaknesses in the technical, human and conceptual skills. From completing the Leadership Trait Questionnaire (LTQ) and the Skills Inventory, I was able to reflect more on how I behave towards others in a leadership context, as well as the skills that I currently possess. I have a lot of experience in many things from education, customer service so forth and to end with parenting, so I have several styles of influence, power and leadership and all of which I have used, just not in this order. To influence is the capacity of the power of a person’s things in which they may be compelling force or able to produce effects and actions. Power means the ability to act or the capability of doing to accomplish something, as in the lecture power is the ability to marshal resources. Leadership is the function or position to direct or guide a group or groups of people, or as the lecture states the process of inspiring and guiding others to participate. It is my personal opinion that with all these styles a person still needs self-management as discussed in this semester as well. You cannot have someone that may has influence, power and leadership, yet lacks self-awareness. How can they lead a pack? My previous jobs have many individuals that portrayed to be leaders whom pretended to have power that influenced us, however they lacked self-management, and all of the above.
