Being a leader means having the power to positively influence others, making the main goal easier to accomplish and having a more effective result. A successful leader must have a passion for what they are doing because although it can be done without passion, I believe that with motivation, new ideas are thought up and people are more driven to do it. The work needed to be done becomes more elaborate, and the overall presentation of the project is sharper and more appealing to people. This is how a true leader can lead a group, and with passion can turn an idea into a project.

I have been in multiple leadership roles throughout my life. I am the first chair in the Henley Jazz Band, president of the Model U.N. club at Henley, and an Editor in Chief of the Henley Newspaper. Being the first chair in Jazz Band, I have not only had to work hard to set a strong example, but have also worked with the other trumpet players in the group to help them both musically with notes and rhythms, and with performance abilities by growing their confidence.

I have a sibling in Leadership who has had positive experiences and her charisma towards the class has also invoked me to take it. I would be delighted to be a part of this class, knowing that so many students who have taken it have had such a positive experience.
I want to join leadership because it would be a place where I would be able to take my ideas and turn them into projects. When I heard that the Leadership program was a place where students are able to plan school events, I was very eager to apply. In the leadership class, I would want to work on any planning or fundraising that are involved with the school. All of the Western events seem to be the highlights of people’s year, and so being a part of the planning for that would be exciting for
