Red Badge of Courage The Red Badge of Courage is an American Civil War novel by Stephen Crane. The novel introduces a young Union soldier, Henry Fleming. Meanwhile, the book compels guilt and courage, throughout Henry Fleming’s experience in battle. In the other hand, Henry Fleming as a soldier have some grieve, soon later using the grieve against his enemies. Which helps the Union soldiers to fight with courage and compassion. In the beginning of the story, Henry and 304th Regiment engage their first gun fight against enemy (Confederate) charges, and won.
