Reconstruction refers to a time period after the American civil war which changed many things and it ended up destroying many things like relationships between the North and South, buildings, the government, and even the economy. The main goals for reconstruction was to basically fix the country and change it back to what it used to be before the civil war. Some ways that were tried to fix up the country was to host meet and greets, rebuild buildings and homes, and having new people in the government for more diversity. Some of these changes worked and some didn’t, and some made things worse for some people but better for others. There were also many situations that changed the country forever.
