Racquetball is a sport where one can play indoors or outdoors with a small hollow rubber ball. The sport is invented by a man name Joseph Sobek. He first designed this game for people to play a fast-paced sport that is easy to learn. The game was developed in 1950. The courts have four walls, the two long walls are forty feet, the Play wall and back wall are both twenty feet and the height from the floor to the ceiling is also twenty feet. There are lines on the court noting the receiving line, service line and short line. They mark the serving area and the receiving area. There are different types of hits and shots. In racquetball, there is also kinetic energy, momentum, and friction involved that most do not pay attention to. This sport is different from tennis, table tennis, badminton, and such. There is no net to hit the ball over and players don’t play on the opposite side of each other. It is very similar to handball. The court’s …show more content…
Second is the shot where the ball is bounced off all three walls near the top, this way the ball loses most of its momentum towards the end, forcing the opponent run around. Lastly, the back wall shot is not the best defensive shot, but it will put one in a bad position in the court. The formula for basic Kinematics is V= Vo + at , Δx = Vot + .5at2, V2= Vo2 + 2a(X-Xo). Velocity is simple to find, first is the acceleration; which is 9.8m/ s2 on earth. Finding the simple velocity like right after or before the ball hits the racquet, one would use the formula above for basic Kinematics. Anything that is in motion is said to have kinetic energy.
