Race and culture: One words identity or two complete opposites
I believe “race” is not a fluid idea and it can only be pinpointed to something physical in appearance. Though there are many different kinds of races, it is only one idea; that someone looks and appears like another in some way. People think that race and culture are both alike, but I say, that your race, the color of your skin, and the way your hair looks does not define what culture you are apart of. Race does not define how you act, it does not define the way you dress, and it does not define who you are as a person. Just like race, culture can also be pinpointed. One person exists in a culture, just as one exists to be a certain race. Culture defines one 's norms, values, and beliefs and I think one person only exists within a culture and not several others.

There is always going to be controversy about whether or not race defines culture, but I say they are two completely different words with two completely different meanings. Most people do not understand the difference of the two and I think more people should be aware of what they mean and not confuse them. So I think I can now say race and culture are not fluid ideas and they are their own main ideas. I think I can also say African American culture is a really big influence in the world today and there 's a lot more to it than people seem. African American culture has always been a big part in my life and in everyone else 's lives and people need to realize that. Just because you feel as if you are not influenced by the ideas, does not mean it does not affect you in any way at all.
