2.0 Introduction
The study on warehouse management system (WMS) was done since early 20th century and there are lots of topics that related to this study. Nowadays the WMS become more advance so that they need to improve their performance to be better. In order to achieve that, there are lots of studies that can be review and its can been categories as follows:

2.1 Reverse Logistics
In logistics process there are two types of the process which reverse logistics process network and forward logistics process network. But when it’s related to warehouse operation there will be more focus on reverse logistics process network. Reverse logistics process network can be defined as the process of planning, implementing and also controlling the efficient, effective inbound and storage of the second goods. This definition is studied by Fleischmann (2001). Figure 1 shows the illustrate concept of forward and reverse logistics within the supply system. In reverse logistics usually involving of retrieve, transport and dispose of a good.

Salema et. al. (2007), studied the design of a reverse distribution network and they found that the most of the proposed models on the subject are case based and for that’s why they lack generality. The redesign model of a generic reverse logistics network has capacity limits, multi-product management and uncertainty on product demands and the returns are considered. Then a mixed integer formulation is developed. In this f...

... been coded in VB.net (Visual Basic 7.0). It was debugged using Microsoft tools that had allowed them to validate the code by following the algorithm flow. Jayant et. al. (2011) also used simulation model, however they are using different software which ARENA 11.0 with simulation package. The studies area is to analyze the future performance of the network and to understand the complex relationship between the parties.

Shi et. al. (2011), an adaptive routing strategy (ARS) had been introduced for transportation networks. This route is made adaptively for the system based on real-time information. The study is related to the shortest problem in networks with random arc cost. Their objective is focus on the problem of finding a shortest path in the transportation network with random arc. They used dynamic stochastic shortest path (DSSP) model to solve their problem.
