Seven years after their marriage Queen Marie and King Louis XVI had their first child, the child was named Marie Therese Charlotte, she was borned in December, they had their second child Louis Joseph three years later, followed by Louis Charles, and finally Sophie Beatrix. Queen Marie was a teen idol, before she became queen, Marie Antoinette captivated the French republic in her early years in the country. Marie’s extravagant hairdo defied gravity. Her hair was four feet high. Her hairdresser accessorized her hair with feathers and trinkets. Marie Antoinette’s Execution Marie was executed on October 16, 1793. She was convicted of treason and sentenced to death. The executioner had to cut Marie ANtoinette’s hair before she was executed. Marie Antoinette was buried in a unmarked grave behind the Church of Madeleine, but her brother-in-law order her and his older brother’s body exhumed so they could have a proper burial with the other French royals. More than a decade after Marie Antoinette’s execution, American Revolution veterans founded the permenant settlement of the Northwest territory in Ohio, they wanted to honor France by naming a town after Marie Antoinette’s execution.
